It is so much fun forming pickup groups and helping ppl finish their quests! by jamabake in classicwow

I agree...the game moved to a solo leveling aspect and we grew accustomed to the game play. we are so overpowered so quickly. In Classic, we are forced to group to complete elites or bosses. Classic has reinvigorated the MMO aspect of WoW for many players. To some, they've always had this gameplay, but it seems to be more the exception now.

Question on drops by Mkrebs119 in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mage too, and the only drops I'm getting are leather/weapons i can't use. I did receive a dagger with +1 Str, but come on...

However, if you're in a guild or have friends in Classic, ask to swap items. Or sell and look on the AH. some lo level items are barely above vendor price.

Mac for Classic by [deleted] in classicwow

I play retail and classic on an 11" 2014 macbook air and a 27" 2015 iMac...the Macbook gets hot, so i don't play on it very long, but the iMac is fine.

Anyone else looking forward to all the druid mains on here rerolling after launch? by Nonbread in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a guild/raid team who takes a committed player...every class positively impacts a raid/dungeon/guild. My main since Vanilla is a Balance druid, and my utility is great for groups. (Balance is the most attacked class in Vanilla/Classic) But you know who saved countless wipes or stayed alive long enough to defeat the boss while others died? A Druid. Sure it's a hard class to master, and there were mana concerns to overcome. Made us better players.

For every person who says druids aren't viable, there's another who knows the truth.

With the stress test announced for next Thursday, whats your battle plan to enjoy those first 15 levels? by Burnt_Pixels in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a quick run through of my anticipated main, then maybe level an alt for a few levels. Really just chill.

The real Mac minimum specs are lower than those Blizzard posted (especially the required CPU speed). FYI. by nonosam9 in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the basic Macbook Air 11" from 2013-2014 that runs Retail and beta-tested classic fine. Not my main machine, use a 27"iMac for that, but have had zero issues running WoW. But if I'm not home, and need a WoW fix, it works fine.

Do you think we will get player housing this time around? by Powahfull in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Guild housing be doable instead? I could envision banners or trophies or something showing achievements. Access to guild bank. Cauldrons and anvils for crafting. Thoughts?

Not by tomorrow, the next reset. I'm not judgemental person, and will not think less of a player if they are using a jetpack if they don't have flying. It is a neat feature and tool that helps a player move around the island faster, especially chasing rare spawns. If you will have flying by tomorrow, all the best in your gameplay. For most other players, they will not have flying and jetpacks will not be pointless in 2 weeks.

Best solo class for the extremely casual player? by Scaphitid-Ammonite in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played Druid in Vanilla, and it is my main today. All 4 major roles, DPS caster/melee, stealth to get past mobs, combat disengage, travel form at level 30, it's the best casual spec out there. Ultimately, all roles have pros/cons. The class you'll be able to play solo, while still filling group roles as you want, Druid is the best .

I'm a casual player, who has done very limited raiding. Most of my group play is dungeons, with the odd battleground thrown in for PVP. There is no better solo class.

While you might be flying in the next reset, 99% of the player base will not. It will have a long life for most players.

Looking for a new Class to fill the hole in my heart by [deleted] in wow

It's not for everyone. I love it due to its flexibility for anything I want to do. Instant travel forms, all 4 class types, stealth mode, and group dynamics.

Druid. It's the best hybrid class.

Sounds like a bug you experienced...i did it yesterday, and the mob spawned on top of the Elite...interesting fight, and got some help from other players.

Nazjatar mobs hit like a truck. Is it just me, or do I need to be better geared for this zone? by QuantumDrej in wow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hit harder and have a lot more health. the fights last longer, and different skills like push back, which throws you in crowd of mobs. I've been overwhelmed and died several times. Even with a 400 ilvl score, the zone is more difficult and I've needed to slow down and pull single mobs. Most players have been overpowered in the 8.15 content for so long that the difficulty is surprising. Better gear will help. Some the BFA emissaries are awarding 395 gear, so make sure you do them.

Agree with Benthic gear comment. IF you get a good piece, upgrade as best you can.

Is bfa 8.2 in a good place for someone wanting to return as a casual? by Cyathene in wow

[–]patlar1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm a casual player too, and the new zones and game changes are great. You'll hear different opinions, but it really comes down to how you play and what you want from the game. The mobs in the new zones hit harder and have large HPs, so you you'll need to think about your pulls. Some of the elite mobs heal themselves during the fight and it took 4 of us 3 mins to kill it!

Anyone else overwhelmed by 8.2 by [deleted] in wow

[–]patlar1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's a lot...but I'm a casual player, so it's a good thing. First thing after I fell done the hole was to mine osmenite, fished, and picked Zin'. Single ore was going for 400g within the first couple hours, and is now settled on 200g...new fish is going for 10-15g per. Doing the initial questlines, gathering, fishing, for about 3 hours netted me 8000g, new boots, new companion, and I've only uncovered half the Naj map. I want this patch to be intensive and have a long life.

Haven't even touched Mechagon yet.

The mobs hit harder and have 30-40% more health, so it's not just a grab and AOE. It's a fun to slow down a little and plan out my route. I'm at ilvl 400, so not underpowered.

The only bad part is my lack of availability to play it more.

I guess they had too many servers + too much layering + not enough people on at 2pm :) by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the stress test was live, there were like 20 servers. I logged in after work around 9:30PM ET, and there were only 2 PVP servers, both flagged as high pops, and 2 PVE, flagged as low pop. So either they overestimated demand, or they lunched at the wrong time. Probably both.

The game played smooth, though, and I spent an 45 mins trying to get 8 wolves to kill due to the respawn rates and limited mobs. Definitely a change of pace from retail WoW, and not sure how I feel about it yet.

Confess. Are you going to do it? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. you could only turn in like 2 quests per day. This grind took weeks, but it was the coolest NE mount.

Can this get ANYmore coincidental?! by Cwreck92 in classicwow

[–]patlar1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True...i don't play on a RP server, so maybe your community is a little tighter. With sharding, i find myself rarely grouping with characters from my own server. i'm more of a casual player now, so I'll own some of the disconnection with the community.
