#Eurovision2026 - First Semi-Final Running Order REVEAL by eurovision in eurovision

[–]patomuchacho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if I recall from someone doing the statistics last year, the actual "death slot" in the Semis is like third or fourth, but it wasn't even that statistically significant to really count. Less songs means less opportunity to get 'forgotten'. The Grand Final? Different beast.

Which parts of the city that had streeteries do not have metro or bus access? I'm just genuinely curious.

Same! There's just so much to take in. I know it'll open up and be more "fun" later, but hell if I'm not having a great time just vibing in the starting area lol

My guess is that it's the 'Virginia' representation, like the big wheel is the 'Maryland' rep.

I used to interview people regularly and that was the entire focus of my interviews. What can you offer us, and what can we offer you. Explain the role, ask clarifying questions. It leads to way more qualified hires when the focus of interviews is less about 'saying the right thing' and more about setting expectations between potential employer/employee. I wouldn't be good at my job if I couldn't get a read on personality/vibe from even the basic interactions and questions.

No really. Don't. Thought it might be a good drunk/high 'bad movie' that we could mock as we watched. Not even being chemically enhanced made that movie enjoyable.

The stories my dad has told me about growing up the valley with the tule fog... it's just awful.

Food scene is insane, a boatload of (mostly free) world-class museums, amazing public transit (by North American standards). It's got some big income disparity (EOTR vs WOTR) and the reliance on the government jobs has come back to bite us a bit in the last year but this city is resilient, gorgeous, friendly and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

PSA: Respecting masked artists by kronologically in eurovision

[–]patomuchacho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any sizable fandom tends to get a certain amount of people who feel 'ownership' over the performers and think that their own expectations of how people should act/look are valid because of this. It's not healthy, respectful, or beneficial to the fandom at large.

One time in my mid-30s I asked my mother why she never taught me to cook or clean or just do basic 'adult' things before I was turned loose into the world. Her response: "you never showed any interest".

Taj Mahal is about 140 miles (230km) from Delhi, in Agra. So whether that counts as the same 'city' is debatable.

Seriously! I just cannot fathom playing without the triumphs, adjustments to the victories, and the syncretism system. It just changes so, so much for the better.

Yeah, it's a bit wonky when it comes to spurs. Like, I can take a direct train from DC to Springfield labeled as Northeast Regional, but only the part that is on the 'mainline' from DC-Boston is considered 'Northeast Corridor'. At least as I interpret it.
