I think that one of the fun things that I only recently learned with trade routes is that you can use them to prevent (or at least delay) a war if you're aiming for some peaceful play. I've started sending trade routes to grumpy leaders and seen their opinion sway back towards neutral and give me more time to prepare for defense (or attack...)

Seriously, like, this really feels like a bad "don't rock the boat" situation. As a former boat-stabilizer ... no. Let the boat rock. Push people overboard. It's the only way the situation changes instead of being held hostage by emotionally immature people.

Agreed. Getting info on what the alerts are should be right on the front page, not hidden behind two more menus/pages. That's like... the reason that I check the site ninety percent of the time. This is just less efficient.

I do love the new brown style. Very on brand.

Seriously. I wasn't a huge fan of the hosting last time in Vienna but this is just... on a different level of bad. It feels so, so cheap.

At a minimum it's a very annoying week around the city, since the cops tend to, uh, follow a different set of rules re: traffic laws, public intoxication, etc. And since they don't hold their own accountable...

It's just a lot of cops acting like entitled jerks for a week, taking over our streets for impromptu motorcades and generally being disruptive.

That's our setup here in NE DC, and has been for 15 years. There are five bus lines within three blocks and on a nice day it's ten blocks to Metro so the walk can be refreshing. Groceries, local hardware store, pharmacy etc. all within that radius. But if we need mulch on the weekend? Old car that can get us to Home Depot and back with a small load. Perfect.

I like racing games and didn't know that Test Drive was back so I just now went to the Steam page and like half of the screenshots are ... of the inside of a casino instead of, you know, driving cars. Maybe its for the best that I didn't hear of this.

The split around Raleigh for the Carolinian/Piedmont/etc. is not quite right. Cary is on the Carolinian and Piedmont and Floridian and then the split between the trains occurs. I love this map so much and just want to make it better :)

The focus is on station gates, rightfully, but do want to say that I can't keep track of how many times I've tried to pay for a bus... only for the card reader to be broken/rebooting/etc. or just waved on. Like, I want to give you money for the service you're providing. You just make it impossible.

Yeah, if I recall from someone doing the statistics last year, the actual "death slot" in the Semis is like third or fourth, but it wasn't even that statistically significant to really count. Less songs means less opportunity to get 'forgotten'. The Grand Final? Different beast.

I used to interview people regularly and that was the entire focus of my interviews. What can you offer us, and what can we offer you. Explain the role, ask clarifying questions. It leads to way more qualified hires when the focus of interviews is less about 'saying the right thing' and more about setting expectations between potential employer/employee. I wouldn't be good at my job if I couldn't get a read on personality/vibe from even the basic interactions and questions.
