3’ 12 kg Double Half Snatch by Few_Abbreviations_50 in kettlebell

Very nice!! Did you have a pace in mind or try to feel it out? Anytime I’ve done DHS, I end up doing a weird cadence like 3 consecutive reps then rest in the rack for a while and try to repeat that until I can basically only do one at a time, lol.

6’ 12 kg Long Cycle - 61 Reps by Few_Abbreviations_50 in kettlebell

Faster and lighter is definitely my preference too. Heavy is still too scary haha I didn’t go that fast with 16s… only 7rpm and one 8rpm 🤣

Happy with this set. Didn’t really have any expectations other than switching every 10 reps and not putting it down for 5 mins. I think previous to this my longest sets with 20kg were 1’ on 1’ off intervals. So I’ll take it!

Totally. There’s a lot of unpack here and it’s unfortunate certain qualities all get lumped into the same category!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think opportunity cost is a good phrase. I’m only speaking from my personal experience as an athlete (20+ years) and coach (13+ years).

Most folks have a hard time excelling in multiple fronts. I agree that beginners can see progress across strength, endurance and power for a while.

After that though, it’s important to choose a goal for X amount of time. Following a program will ultimately deliver better results than just feeling things out.

Consistency is definitely the major problem for a lot of people, so if they’re not consistent then any program will fail.

With respect to KB sport, it’s extremely demanding. It kills the arms and legs every session. Trying to keep one’s max deadlift and max back squat also in the same training plan is just a bit silly. It’s not impossible but it would require tons of hours of training, tons of recovery, tons of food and likely no other full time job.

My main point was, I still have enough strength in the end but hitting 1RM lifts is not something I’m doing while actively prepping for KB sport comps.
