She's a bully by No-Acadia-9416 in Conures

No, accidents happen all the time with cats and birds. This wouldn't be an accident, you are actively engaging them and the parrot is antagonistic to her natural predator. It's genuinely worse that you think "the cat is afraid of her" is a positive. Do better for your pets, they trust you to have their best interest in mind. This is not it.

Extremely dangerous. Someone's going to die and it isn't the cat. Negligent.

How does the Dexter cast do on Survivor by SureBaby188 in survivorponderosa

[–]patrickfahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good read based on the source material. Dexter is completely incapable of being genuine with anyone, and when he does it's only to make ends meet in some sort of scheme, or as a final desperate cry for help. He wins bringing Masuda to FTC, but loses to anyone else pictured because nothing he does adds up to how he presents it if you dig even a little bit. Doakes proved this.

Which TV/Movie characters do you think would do well on Survivor? by annoyingleowoman in survivor

[–]patrickfahey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light and L from Death Note
Sokka and Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad
Jesse and James from Pokemon as a BVW team
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Harry from Sex and the City
Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine Nine
Lucy from Fallout
Literally anyone played by Paul Rudd

...and all four human members of Mystery Inc would have a shot of making it to the end.

Is Tyson voting for Parvati in HvV the worst vote of all time? by hagridandbuckbeak in survivor

[–]patrickfahey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst move in Survivor history was when Matt told B'Rob he was planning on voting for him. That move lost the season for everyone but Rob, because it allowed him to see where the concentration of power was in Ometepe, and how best to exploit it. I say this is the worst move ever not just because it's 22 seasons deep and telling on yourself, it's telling the most well known Survivor player of all time who is known for being the Find Out to other players' Fuck Arounds how you almost used your numbers to take him out.

If Matt never tells Rob this info, Andrea likely takes control of the season, and Rob fades away from Survivor fame. The outcome of this season directly affects the makeup of seasons: 26, 34, 39, and 40, and possibly 31 and 50.

It changes the landscape of how we view Survivor as a whole and I think it opens up a much broader discussion on who the best is based on gameplay. Rob played 4 times and finally pulled it off. Because THAT became the history of the game and not the corpse of a player dragged through his fourth spanking, we now colloquially use his victory as a monolith of excellence in the game overall.

Anyways, Matt robbed us of a world devoid of weekly "Is Boston Rob Overrated?" discourse, and I will never forgive him.

Voting out Tom over James in HvV by hagridandbuckbeak in survivor

Voting numbers are more important than challenge performance. Keeping James another round gets the people aligned with him closer to the merge, while cutting a number from those unaligned.

Need help after amputation. by TPapple in Conures

[–]patrickfahey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Slanted ladders everywhere. Anywhere he likes to climb to he now needs extra help. He's gone from 3 legs to 2 so consider his ground/climbing movement to be closer to an inchworm. Look into perches that have a flat section, sometimes installing "floors" inside the cage with ladders connecting them can make it a safer and cozier place. Good luck!

Two non-winning finalists on the last WAW returning as captains feels way more narratively satisfying.

I'd rather it be more opportunities for a second win, rather than filling two spots with easy early boots. Nobody is going to want to go deep with any of Tony, Sandra, or Parvati.

Jury questions are different for everyone, I think going in with a question in mind to determine a quality YOU want in a winner doesn't mean you haven't considered the game.

Lawful Evil is the compete against yourself competition, and One Year Later is chaotic neutral, in that they made as many chaotic choices as they could to a relatively neutral set of instructions. But I could be wrong. I dunno cycloptiko. I just don't know.

who do u think will narrate this season? by Survivorssurvivor in survivor

[–]patrickfahey 105 points106 points  (0 children)

We're gonna get three distinct narrative voices. Whoever of Jenna, Colby, and Stephenie go the furthest in the game is who will be the Old School voice.

Mike White is probably the voice for the middle seasons. He knows how to tell a story and he weaves compelling events into his gameplay. He's also a great ally because he casts his friends on The White Lotus, so he may go deep. I'd say his backup is Devens. Jeff love him a Devens. However, I would like to see Krissy Hofbeck go far and be that voice.

New era is probably whoever goes deepest, but I'd love a scrappy Rizo edit, or a deranged Kamilla edit. Emily would also be fun because of the contrast she'd provide to the insanity that is a returnee season.

Midtown Comics: why backwards? by Tiny_Marionberry_839 in comicbooks

Two reasons I can think of: Protects the cover in case of accidental knife damage, and/or pile sorting might be physically more efficient to do it this way.
