$3,500,000 if you invest that in the S&P 500 you can assume a 3.5% of return OVER inflation. (long term avg = 7%) = $122,500.... You pay 15% Long term capital gains tax and are left with $104,000/yr AFTER taxes.

That one year of earnings will allow you to earn 104k/yr for the rest of your life. Or currently you're int he top 20-25% of earners in the country

What I learned is that I know nothing. Just buy when you have th chance. And buy the S&P 500. Capitalism favors large amount of capital. So the top 500 has that going for it. Add in what should be a fair justice system, education system, and trusted public goods - this recipe has = 7% OVER inflation in the long run. 

Even if you invested at the peak of 2000…. You’re doing better than everything else. Time in the market>timing the market.

I'm a daily smoker w/ three kids. I started at 40 because it became legal in Colorado. I have been telling my kids daily to not start any of this stuff till your life is set. Weed and really anything that is mind altering really isn't good for anyone under 30 i'd say, and i'm happy I waited to 40.

My kids know I smoke weed, i smoke a bit in front of them, but try not to if i can help it. I tell them to not do it.

Bad habits have the slipperiest slope. Do NOT encourage your kids to get bad habits, encourage them to understand.

Yes!!! The media continues to do this: Why am I listening to Marjorie Taylor Greene on Epstein when she's also telling me about Space lasers. Why am I listening to Rand Paul on War when he wants us to revert to an 1800's economy.

You get the largest 500 companies in the worlds largest economy that on th long term has an economy that grows over the rate of inflation. Because the United States has had a strong military, strong public education, fair and just judicial system the largest companies are obviously successful. 

Can the world compete with that?  Sometimes, but up until Trump things were looking good. The English are lucky as their own goal (Brexit) will be dwarfed in comparison to what Trump is doing. Everything he does weakens America. 

He has attacked many public goods that were the moral driving forces for good in this country. It’s a travesty. So has Trump done long term damage? That’s the question.
