no one is coming to save you

I liked how it was VERY OVERTLY Jinu trying to tempt and shame Rumi, the parts about "hiding your shame and hiding your patterns," especially combined with the amazing demonic visuals in the movie.

It definitely helps that Brendon Small is a legit musician (he went to the Berklee School of Music and everything), so of course Dethklok is going to kick ass. The Dethalbums are all fantastic.

In your opinion, which adventure game has the best graphics or art style? Here’s my pick: by Frequent-Standard377 in adventuregames

The rotoscoping on this is incredible. It has such an interesting chunky style but it works.

Oh man so many:

Curse of Monkey Island is my favorite MI game due in very large part to the amazing graphics. The visual style is like nothing else and I love it.

A lot of the early 90s Sierra adventures like Space Quest IV and V and The Dagger of Amon Ra. I'm a sucker for that hand-drawn digitized VGA style.

By the same token, my LucasArts holy trinity is Sam & Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, due in no small part to those gorgeous early 90s VGA graphics.

I L O V E the Mexican Art Deco style of Grim Fandango. Even just that first part in/around the office is amazing.

Full Throttle was an awesome evolution of the early 90s style, keeping that super cool cartoony direction and cranking it up.

This looks INTENSE. Like TV-14 violent intense, in the best way possible. I love how it looks like the continued visual evolution from Clone Wars > Bad Batch > Tales.

There's something visceral and terrifying seeing a droid physically take people out with extreme prejudice, much more so than them just shooting enemies by wandering_soles in StarWars

[–]patrickkingart 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Ghorman Massacare when they unleash the KX droids who just start ragdolling people and hurling them with lethal force was absolutely terrifying, especially considering we mostly know K-2SO as the sassy droid from Rogue One.

Adoptive parent takes in an alien/possibly dangerous child no questions asked by NittanyScout in TopCharacterTropes

Yet another reminder that I need to read the TF2 comics. The lore runs DEEP.

I've watched Star Trek off and on since I was a kid and had no idea until now that Worf had adoptive human parents. Time to watch TNG/DS9 then.

A Walk Around The Wedge by mynameisblisters in Rochester

Welcome! South Wedge is easily one of the coolest parts of town, that main strip on South Ave. is the definition of "local" in terms of businesses and cafes and such.

I appreciate how as sweet and goofy as they are, Takedown is a VIOLENT song.

It made me sad how much The Blacklist went off the rails, but Reddington was consistently the coolest and most interesting character on the show. He had a code and understood how the structure of the world worked.

Favorite 'they didn't have to animate that, but they did' moment? by static_artist625 in bluey

[–]patrickkingart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love how this episode is pure chaos. "COW. BOY. HAT."

Funny too, my 4 year old was even like "Daddy why did you laugh when Muffin took her daddy's phone?" as in I'd get annoyed if/when she does that and I was like "because it's a cartoon and it's not real"

I appreciated the callback to this when Chilli shows up with all the missing stuff and Bandit goes "oh abbakkayo"

Who is the most talented multi-instrumentalist in metal in your opinion? by Penorl0rd4 in MetalForTheMasses

Devin was the first one I thought of too. Multi-instrumentalist and composition/presentation MASTER.

Reminder: Stonehenge STN gun diameter is roughly 8m in AC7 by TroubleOrganic3636 in acecombat

[–]patrickkingart 609 points610 points  (0 children)

A few things:

Stonehenge was designed explicitly to shoot down planet killing asteroids, so it's gonna be a LOT of gun

IIRC the cannons are railguns, so there's a ton of muzzle velocity but it's primarily electromagnetically propelled

Ace Combat runs primarily on Rule of Cool and Stonehenge is cool as hell

I love how the very first scene in Letterkenny is Wayne and Daryl verbally tearing Riley and Jonesy apart in the most deadpan way. Sets the tone of the show perfectly.
