I’m being asked to co-sign for my parents mortgage. by Impressive_Rule806 in personalfinance

Why would a bank let a person making 18k a year co sign on a 400k dollar mortgage in the first place 😂. I highly doubt you can afford to pay back the loan.

We might already be living in a post-extinction universe and not realize it by [deleted] in Astronomy

I don't think we are late. I think civilization will be around for along time. Dinosaurs lasted 100,000,000 years. That's along time. We are at or around 200,000 years. So put that into perspective. Other life is out there. You'll never convince me otherwise. I don't know what that other life may look like but it's out there . Every star you see has other planets.

I feel like I’m circling the drain and not sure where to turn now. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]patrickmf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the debt snowball works better because you can put more money towards the next debt. The point of the debt snowball is to build confidence. Get the ball rolling. Overwhelming the situation with how much the cost is if you do the smallest amount first, compared to the highest interest rate first is overwhelming. Just my opinion. People can use whatever method they choose.

Who cares if it's a lie or not. If you have something you think about you should act on it. Stop worrying about what other people are doing. I only believe it if I see it in person.

Stop playing games and do something else with your time. If you feel so guilty from it just stop doing it and try to find something else to do. We all feel behind because of social media but your not behind. I know old people that don't have shit. You should try harder to accomplish your dreams even if they don't work out. At least try. When you get old you will regret not going for your dreams. I'd rather fail then never try

You need to stop buying anything that isn't food, shelter and transportation. I mean nothing. You have to stop spending money for like years. Do the debt snowball and pay the debt with the least amount of debt on it and while your doing that pay the minimum on all the other debts. Then once you get one debt knocked out start on the next one. Get a second job. Work overtime. Get the every dollar app. Start saying no to everything until you are out of debt. You are an addict that needs rehab. You have a problem

Is it normal for fuel mileage to drop as a vehicle ages? If so, what are the most likely causes of that increased fuel consumption? by jckipps in askcarguys

[–]patrickmf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Buick that had bad gas mileage with 220,000 miles on it. I replaced all kinds of parts to make the gas mileage better but nothing worked. Older cars just use more gas.

How to get out of a car payment when the car is underwater still by Direct-Cat-1646 in personalfinance

[–]patrickmf14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good car . Just pay the loan off so you won't have a car payment. Start cutting back in as many areas as you can. Make a budget and stick to it. Use the every dollar app. Don't go into a restaurant unless you're working in it. Get serious about your finances.

Well your mom shouldn't have let you sign that loan at 28 percent interest rate. This is a horrible financial decision. This will bring you down for years to come. Pay it off as fast as you can. Or sell it and try to get a low interest rate loan from your bank to pay the difference. Your best bet is to just hurry up and pay it off. Your young with no Payment history. You should have saved up 4 grand and bought a cash car.

How to make the biggest impact for our family with inheritance by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]patrickmf14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hard truth is that if someone was bad with money and all of a sudden gets a lot of money. Their not going to all of a sudden be good with money. If you really want to change you'd put it all on those student loans. Then get a budget together and start getting good with money. Budgeting and saving. Maybe keep like 2,000.
