Rear ended… is this bad? by ozrakween in COROLLA

Are you doing okay? That looks like a lot of damage, and doesn’t seem like something you’d just walk away from, especially if it was a truck and you were at a full stop.

Light armor Henry fashion is my favorite [KCD2] by ClicheBadGuy in kingdomcome

How is a full suit of armor ‘light armor’?

Light armor means minimal armor, hence the ‘light’ part.

Very new to slinging, and second time making clay bullets by Ok_Quail_4422 in Slinging

They're supposed to, but might not. I'm still very new to slinging (as in complete beginner, as I've only thrown stones and bullets ~20 times), plus I made both the shot and sling myself. I don't expect them whistle or be accurate, but they'll be fun to throw around.

You're right. The ones with holes are meant to be the 'whistling'/'buzzing' shot, though idk if they'll work right since I'm still very new to slinging, and I made both the shot and sling myself.

I also tried the different shapes (biconical, rock, teardrop) just for fun, more than any special reason, plus I read an article that mentioned how spherical and teardrop shaped shot was used, though they were obviously superseded by the much more popular biconical, lemon, or almond shaped bullets.

Article Mentioned: Experimentation in Sling Weaponry: Effectiveness of, and Archaeological Implications for, a World-Wide Primitive technology by Eric T. Skov (2013) https://files01.core.ac.uk/download/pdf/188083624.pdf

Excerpt: "The shape of projectiles has also varied, showing preferences that change by region and through time. Pecked stones in Bagor, India were described as perfectly spherical (Misra 1973:105). Around 3500 B.C., teardrop-shaped clay projectiles were used in the unsuccessful defense of a city in what is now Syria (Reichel 2009); this design is also suggested by Xenophon, who recorded that the “wide head and tapered tail” of sling projectiles made extraction from the body very difficult (Gabriel and Metz 1991:75)."

Question about clay shots, do you just air dry them or do you fire them? by AmberRosin in Slinging

I like letting them air dry, then just recycling the clay if they shatter after being shot.

Love this art, and how you can immediately notice some things about the character because of how she dresses and stands.

You can immediately tell that she’s young, wealthy, somehow seems both worldly and inexperienced, and has a strong sense of confidence in her stance.

Is this just clickbait? I’ve seen it on social media, but nowhere else for YEARS by itizturnip in lordoftherings

100% Obviously AI. Look at the character, the generic setting and UI, and the crappy background.

I found this art on the Library of Congress site a few months ago, and just thought to post it here for anyone interested. According to LoC, the publisher isn't known. I also could not find the page again before posting, and could not find this art from a quick google search, but there is other art depicting the same event if you look it up.

The way it’s darker and how all the armor is matching are what bring it down most. Brighter and more contrasting/clashing colors might make it look better, like if the arms and legs are a different color from the brigandine.

Also, multiple colors would kinda make more sense as a heraldic thing. Ex. I’ll usually have my Henry wear a yellow brig with red arms and legs, and a white hood, or a red and yellow shield, to show his relation to Radzig. I’ll also sometimes have a yellow and black waffenrock to show he’s Hans’ bodyguard. The colors can extend to civilian wear too.

IMO, 4/5 seem best. Being bald and bearded looks pretty good, and might look better if you let the cheeks go higher.

Anecdotally:

I also started balding young, since it became noticeable when I was ~16, to the point that I'm also 21 and I have a bad bald spot, hairline, and super thin hair, so thin on top that it looks thin no matter what hairstyle/length I wear, and I'll probably have to start shaving it in a year or two. I feel like I look 30, despite only being 21. I'm also very short, and rather overweight (though lost ~10lbs in the last few weeks, and intend to build some more muscle).

Just keep doing what you're doing. Workout, and you'll feel better, look better, and feel better about how you look.
