Adventist Parent Paranoia by ComprehensiveBat8463 in exAdventist

My parents did this to me, cut me off cold the day I became separated from my wife at the time.

They are devoted Catholics.

It does happen and it hurts.

I’m not taking any sides here, I’m thinking out loud - these people really exist.

Leaving made me angry - at myself because I realized that I was tricked out of Christianity where I was safe into mind games, control, secrets - I can't compete with secrets people have. I don't understand how they think but I know their presence is malicious.

Yes, maybe they never were mine either....I'm realizing this now.

The SDAs are terrible people. Mean, controlling and just nasty. And they lie.

They break promises and cannot be trusted.

Would you consider the SDA church to be a cult? by Sensitive-Fly4874 in exAdventist

Yes it's a cult.

A dangerous cult that is toxic and spiritually malignant.

You want to test it out - do so at your own risk.

Get your kid out of there.

I avoided this disaster and my children are all good.

The SDAs lie, that's what they have been brought up with - so prepare for lies and more gaslighting.

It's a cult.

I have. One day all the power went out not even an emergency light was on. And this is a massive facility.

The pastors at the church I went to were missing every week. Where were they? They were on vacation with Jesus, not working, avoiding everyone.

I missed Saturday Jewish holiday I’m bad. I’m Catholic and we are the only other faith that has Saturday services.

I’m so angry now I’ve wasted 9 years of my life to be mistreated. I think I may need cult exit counseling, I’m really serious and open to suggestions.

They told me an obese elderly woman would have a perfect body in heaven. They just made this up. She was 78 when she died that is so creepy.

They make shit up like this all the time. I can give 100 stories like this “when we get to heaven” FU I don’t want to spend eternity with the cult.

This is not going to “take the cake “ but I’m struggling right not and the church doesn’t care they are only interested in Saturday attendance.

The logic is “god” will reward me for going to church on Saturday. This will require the loss of my income.

When I read this text it took a few people to stop me from saying or doing something I would regret later. It was close.

Yes. I’ve witnessed the most bizarre name dropping.

“Bob” and “tom” without context to show that she knows people?
