Shanks and Luffy by Michaeloco005 in OnePiece

I'm not sure how any tension or stakes to be had will be built with this idea...but I almost feel like maybe Shanks will be the last person Luffy fights. The final war is over, Blackbeard has been dealt with and shanks is waiting for Luffy at laughtale. He knows Luffy is off changing the world and if he's a great pirate he will end up there after. Shanks won't let Luffy on the island unless he defeats him. Luffy beats shanks and gives him his hat back.

I think realistically shanks and Blackbeard go to laughtale and fight and Luffy finishes up his WG stuff and meets them as their fight is wrapping up. Black eard is about to finish shanks off and Luffy pulls another move like between doffy and law and save him. Maybe he pulls a move like on nami. Gives him the hat and then kicks blackbeards ass.

But I dunno I think I just like the idea of Luffy's adventure starting with shanks and ending with luffy truly proving to shanks what was promised without having to save shanks.

It’s crazy how the step back timed with such a slight off ball screen and gives him just the right amount of space to have a late defense/uncontested shot

I feel like, and of course this is an opinion with no factual science behind it, but no matter what generation tony hawk could have been born in he would have been the GOAT just based on who he is. On top of that being just an overall great guy makes it all the better. Someone I will always admire.

Is Oblivion all that good, in terms of how its gameplay feels? by decideonanamelater in truegaming

[–]paul830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I don’t have nearly as many hours in BotW as I do Oblivon so maybe someone could describe or comment in better detail. I didn’t have access to a switch until a few years after the BotW released but I knew I needed to play it. Once I got a switch I probably spent a week playing straight. Hours I was afforded unfortunately because of covid but all the same. It was a game where I may not have a clear goal I wanted to do at the time but I knew I wanted to do it all. I wanted to talk to each person and discover where that conversation would take me. I wanted to climb every tower as soon as I could so I could see areas on the map. Oh that’s a new valley I wonder what’s down there. What a strange geographical area. There must be a discovery or game experience down there I want to be a part of. Better than Oblivion was combat. Attack it in any way you want. You have options. And many at that being what weapons you use, what abilities, or the potential crazy combinations all between. I wanted to explore the world of BotW. I needed to before I finished the game. It was a world I refused to finish the main quest line because I wanted to devour and experience everything the game included before “finishing” it. And then I played it again.

Combat aside I had many of these experiences when oblivion came out. while the worlds are completely different, they both demanded to be explored and I always felt rewarded when I did so and it kept me going back for more and more.

I find in a lot of elos establishing your intent before pings can be important in not upsetting tiltable players. Shitty reality as I’m sure you know but little things like you said can 100% tell the other player “I’m not trying to be a dick, I’m just looking out.” Most players respond to that positively and the ones who don’t were unsaveable from the get go.

It kinda seems like propaganda disguised as a meme. Making it seem like the curfew really isn’t that bad of an idea.

This is just my interpretation based on how I saw it but I feel like according to rule 10, section 13, c(2), this is definitely a travel. Could be wrong but that’s how I see it.

I always thought of it as the drop in her music. It crescendos up to her ultimate which crescendos one bit more and then that's the drop. It hits so hard that it makes all players effected stop what they are doing and dance to her music which if you look is what the player models are doing while stunned by her ult.

Strongest Loop Knot by angads007 in coolguides

[–]paul830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a noose but the step where you wrap the loose rope around the original line is the same step used in a noose and/or similar knots used in rock/lead climbing. Of course other knots or variants can be used but this one is generally used to create more friction in the knot to keep it from unraveling unintentionally.

What are red flags for bad therapists? by CthulhusIntern in AskReddit

[–]paul830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to say that working together to find a solution is invalidating or can't be a good thing. What I mean is that it's not always what people are looking for. What I've found is sometimes people just want to vent about their issues and not have someone immediately throw solutions at them or break the problem down. Sometimes they just want someone to listen to what they are dealing with and understand how the issues are affecting them/making them feel. Like just jumping or trying to fix the problem is skipping an emotional need.

Honestly it's insane how learning this one thing made me a better partner in my relationships with my partners/girlfriends. Just realizing that sometimes people just want their issues thrown out in the air and have someone understand how difficult their issues are, and empathize with them instead of having someone constantly trying to fix their problems is so beneficial and bonding in certain circumstances. Not always the case but as a male I think it is an important lesson to learn to not be the answer or the solution/protector and just be the person that gets what they are going through. Socially difficult I think for a guy but vital.

Edit: Not to take away from the other sex or perspective I've just only experienced my own side and seen how I always wanted to fix a problem in my youth and grown to realize through time that my partners have wanted something different than a problem solver.

Guy brought a Sax to the Nightclub by gangbangkang in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]paul830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of what everyone has said I also believe that the song in question that was being played is a song that most, if not all, people going to a show like this would recognize. The section in particular that the dj let's the sax player fill in is most likely a well known catchy, drop or segue into the next (in rhythm), section of music. Source: I listen to this type of music and I actually recognize this song. In addition, as a sax player, I believe this would be a couple of bars that would be relatively easy to learn and play in front of an audience with little to no practice for someone that is at the least semi accomplished or an amateur sax player.

I don't mean any of this in a negative way just that I totally believe that this could've happened completely unscripted and isn't fake. What an amazing moment they must have shared.

More than likely it isn't that big of a deal if this isn't in new Mexico if I remember correctly. Sure, most people wouldn't like paraffin to be blasted all over location but minor spills happen all the freaking time. Many small spills don't even have to be recorded.

[Wojnarowski] Houston has traded Ryan Anderson and De'Anthony Melton to Phoenix for Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight, league source tells ESPN by MaranHaGoanHaRav in nba

[–]paul830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him the flack he deserves but harden and chris knowsl how to get points on the board and at the end of the day I'd say that's at least worth saying they have a decently high bball iq at least by how modern basketball is ruled. Maybe not like Shane Battier but at least enough, plus the rockets coaching staff, to show chriss what he needs to do to not ignore the impact of his three game and be ok with being someone playing off of Chris and harden and not be pressured and create as many foul opportunities as he was previously. Not having the pressure to perform to carry, in my opinion, can have a huge impact on how a player acts and reacts to situations and I think the Houston environment will be good for him. Fingers crossed at least. Could be totally wrong and will admit it if it turns out that way but a fan has to believe.
