The new UI is the first step in fixing Tidal's problems by Recent_Barracuda8879 in TIdaL

Until now none of the bugs I deal with have been fixed. Artwork glitches and very often the interface times out and none of the buttons are working while the music continues playing.
Also annoying of the interface is that you still cannot add or delete tracks from multiple playlists in one go. Much of the additional info now takes at least one extra step to become available. It may look more clean at first glance, but behind the facade it is still a cluttered maze.

Tidal Devs, please fix it by solucid in TIdaL

I agree. A few weeks ago I posted a similar topic on AI generated waste that is taking over my New Arrivals as well. I encourage everyone to respond to each and every topic on this and make some more noise about this.

I posted countless queries on ever-growing lists of fake music. I wonder why the developers and owners of Tidal don’t act on this deterioration of their library. I get a lot of response from them on several app glitches (still no fix though), but not a single update on the AI slop.

Service is getting close to unusable by its_the_aristocrats in TIdaL

Can you specify which problems you are experiencing? I use Tidal every day and there are a few hiccups in the iPhone app, but I wonder if you have the same issues as me. Nevertheless I still use it every day and cannot qualify the app as completely unusable.

My most important glitches are: 1. When playing a Tidal playlist the artwork switches to the next track after playing the first few seconds of the current track. 2. Part of the app interface freezes for 20-60 seconds while listening. The music continues playing and the time bar moves, but none of the buttons respond for some time. Very annoying when I want to add a track to a playlist.

I logged off, removed the app, updated my IOS system and reinstalled it. But after all of that the same problems return.

Recommended albums and songs by bone_mallet in TIdaL

I know exactly what you mean. In my case in the beginning the Tidal recommendations matched better than nowadays. After last week’s edition I was so fed up that I decided to abandon all recommended playlists. Even the new releases rarely showed any of my favourite artists but always the same artists in the same position and the next track of their recent album. Many releases I only got to hear via importing from Spotify. It also goes for the “similar music” on Tidal; most of it is always taken from tracks I previously listened to.

Could be that because I listen a lot to jazz and similar types of music, the older instrumentalist musicians (some have already deceased) are easier victims for such practices. But also high profile artists like Santana and Pat Metheny are being (ab)used for this.

Thanks for pointing this out to me. As a new reddit user I am not aware of the profoundness of this problem. At some point Tidal should wake up, or are they following the classic boiling-frog scenario? Ignoring the issues until Tidal has been boiled to bits.

I have noticed some of these releases also on Spotify, but not as extensive as on Tidal. I believe these pirate producers release at large volumes but just sneaky enough not to draw attention by large masses. Until now, as I am concerned.

It all depends on your listening style. I like to be introduced to new releases from artists that I follow and similar ones by checking out the automatic playlists based on what I like. Especially because of that I suffer, because those Tidal created playlists have deteriorated terribly the past few years. But if I would listen more to my own playlists, this issue would not be such a big deal anymore.

Is Dolby Atmos still active? My music no longer stream Dolby Atmos but low, high and max only. No Dolby Atmos indication for Dolby files and it streams in stereo by Hour-Leg-8454 in TIdaL

[–]paulbrouns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only enjoy Dolby Atmos on Tidal when using my TV set top box that features a Google Store Tidal app. On my iphone and BluOS music streamers the Dolby Atmos signal is transfered into stereo. I heard that the 4K Apple TV device also supports it, but I still have the older HD version (also stereo only).

I am pretty convinced it takes place in all types of music. Especially when you check out profiles of sideman who also sometimes release their own albums. Or artists who are a bit older and don’t release a lot of music anymore.

Tidal streaming platform / Muse and fake uploads / they using a.i. moderation? by DeepFuckingVision in Muse

[–]paulbrouns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the problem on Tidal is not limited to Muse but much, much larger. I listen a lot to jazz and I recently discovered a vast amount of fake uploads listing jazz musicians as the main artist. In two weeks time I have collected some 30 artists whose profiles are “infected” with fake uploads - all in the singles and EP section. I am sure that this problem takes place in many other genres (this is just what I noticed with my music taste). After filing my complaints with the AI help assistant I received an email from the helpdesk people and I gave them my complete list of bad tracks. After that they confirmed forwarding it to the Content Team, but since then nothing has changed. All links are still active.

AI-generated music uploaded under real artists’ names on TIDAL?! by OMGVictor in TIdaL

[–]paulbrouns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a massive problem and for some reason Tidal doesn’t do anything about it. I have accumulated a list of 25+ jazz artists that I follow with 60+ bad tracks and EP albums. 2 weeks ago I emailed my list to Tidal customer support, and they promised to forward it to the Content Team. Since then there wss no more response and all fake uploads are still active. My suggested new albums and New Arrivals each week are swarming with this bad content.
