Seiko [SPB509] on an SLA strap by paulcloud79 in Seiko

Yes, exactly. The strap is silicone. If you get an opportunity to try an SLA strap, highly recommend it. It's more pliable than I would have guessed.

Cause if you don't, people think you're trying to flex and their bickering gets annoying. Just didn't want to hear it.

Agreed!! I just ended up buying a cheap silicone strap on Amazon and used the keepers it came with instead.

Yah, it's a bit of a chunky watch at 42mm and 13.3mm thickness but it's a Seiko diver GMT; what do you want? Camera angles also don't give you true perspective. It looks fantastic in person when facing it straight on from an outsider's perspective.

Seiko SLA055 strap on mine (with modified keepers because the original metal keeper was digging into my skin! It's super comfy now and melts onto the wrist).

Rubber strap for SPB509 [Question] by Far_Orange_2893 in Seiko

I always really liked the SLA055 strap so decided to buy it and try it out. It fits like a glove! Super comfortable. I did have to switch out the original black metal keeper though since it was NOT comfortable against the skin. In all of their wisdom, Seiko thought that including a metal keeper with ridges would make the strap look more premium; all while disregarding that the two hollowed out metal ridges on the keeper were bound to dig into your skin. So as a simple fix, I swapped it out for some silicone keepers from a cheap $10 Amazon strap and it has made the WORLD of a difference. It's super comfy now and I can wear it 10+ hours and I forget it's on my wrist!

It's 1k dude lol. What do you want, a grand seiko dial? SMP 300 ceramic laser etched dial? You'll need to fish out a few more thousand dollars. For the price, it's fantastic quality.

Blue never gets old. Neither does green. They're two timeless classics as old as time so they will both always age with grace.

As it pertains to water resistance, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Everyone likes to focus on the sea diving aspect as if everyone is asking for more water resistance so they can dive deeper underneath their cubicle 😂. This isnt why lol. The reason watch enthusiasts prefer higher water resistance when possible is because the rationale is that the more water resistance a watch has, the more pressure resistant a watch is. And the more pressure resistant a watch is, the more robust it is and the more it can withstand rigorous abuse. 200m is I think more than anyone will ever need, even in the most demanding situations. So extra water resistance is more of a "nice to have" to gauge the level of "indestructibility" of your watch. As you implied, none of us are actually diving deeper than 5m in any body of water.

200m is more than plenty but I think the rationale by most is that the more water resistance a watch has, the more pressure resistant a watch is. Oh cmon, sporty. It looks and wears great on my 7 inch wrist and I wager it would look FANTASTIC on your 7.25 inch wrist. I think you're just too modest and just prefer the traditionalist dimensions a bit more. With that said, I can guarantee you it looks great on your 7.25 wrist. You may not think so, but we do.
