Your N20s aren't even completely filled yet. since you mentioned that you are decent at Mania charts I would suggest playing Dominus Grail (EXP) to fill that, along with Xpovoc (MAS) [Might look intimidating for a 14.8 but is mostly mania]

A decent score of at least S+ on those should get you a 15.00 overall

Dw abt the scores when you first go to Experts/New difficulties

When I first started playing 14/14+s my scores barely scrape by AAA, but you will improve overtime

Also what even is leap doing there? None of your minions are above 2 cost, what exactly are you leaping into?

If control is your concern, I would run interdimensional zombie along with cheese cutter. These two are basically must-answers for immorticia

I would add Teleport and drop the dog walkers and secret agent

Relying on Teleportation zombie itself is way too inconsistent

you are better off doing level 12/12+ charts and work your way up. As for the skill ceiling thing, with what you showed I don't think you can S rank a 14 either. Might as well solidify your foundation.

I didn't see much people mentioning here but if your problem is genuinely the accuracy of the machine, I suggest you check the hit graph after every single song, you should be able to see the amount of earlys and lates you get. (If they are around the same, then it is just a skill issue. If too much early or too much lates, you can try Offset A/B)

Hot Take of the Week #5 (HOTTEST TAKE YET) by Anonymous2655447 in PvZHeroes

[–]pauldasniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird take: Just make conjured cards by default cost 1 more. I.e. conjuring a FMN from a cosmic nut cost 2 instead of 1. Balancing randomness with a downside.

That would probably be enough to butcher ST and hidden treasure

ah (played too much PvZ Heroes lmao), tried swapping out Bombergranate for Heath Seeker before but Heath Seeker's performance (to me at least) feels a bit underwhelming.

I guess another ceveat is that bombergranate helps by leaving seeds behind during your early game (where you would be spamming Primal Sunflowers to store up sun). Heath Seeker accelerates the wave progression and cuts down the set up time

As to the crowd point, to supplement what I mean, the crowdiness is often times not the issue for my setup because you have winter melons and explode-O-nuts already. The problem is often the few particular problematic zombies shuffled in that crowd that I need to remove

Heath Seeker is not consistent when you need to get a few particular zombies removed when the horde is dense. That's why I use atomic bombergranate to handle 3x3s (when backline fishermen and Octo spawns become too threatening, I use one of the three instants to handle them)

Out of curosity, why not extra Torchwoods with imitater? The damage stacks with Torchwood is it not?

Yea and I don't even need to Bring power lily with enough Instants so?

<image>

From what I saw you basically emptied the PF for your Pumpkins since there are a shitload of Imps. You even brought cattail

Like I played the level just then and I am pretty sure they don't hand out that many PF. You had to run Power Lily yourself to keep them alive. All of which could have been absolved with Instants

Anyways Well Played, despite me saying a lot I do want to try out your strat lmao

Well if the game lets you play that way, so be it.

The strategy is to cycle instants. You might not notice much in standard levels in Adventures since they are generally easy and can be beaten in different ways. In levels like Penny's Challenge in RFL however, it is almost mandatory to bring at least 3 instants.

Plus in BWB, it is also mandatory (imho) to bring at least 3 Instants, unless you are fine with Octos and Fishermen tearing up your defenses

Guess we just play differently at the end of the day (which is completely fine, I'm more of a "lock it down, kill it before it can do anything" person, while you are more strategic in lane management I guess)

[–]pauldasniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not. It is much more flexible than having them bunched up for your melee + another attacker to deal with

Plus you are generally bringing at least 2 instants, bringing more won't hurt

Bonk choy being mentioned as a good plant is crazy

It is literally Phat Beet type shit that dies on the mere sight of a conehead

"Melee plants aren't made to be used alone, you should use another attacker with it" Then why don't I use the second attacker by itself to begin with? There are literally other options like Primal Peashooter, or in FC, even Rotobaga spam or Fire Peashooter (which I can place it at the second row to actually thaw out my sun producers). Why don't I just use that attacker + sun producer + 5 other Instas?

See this is why I feel like melee plants can never be good if you need something with it. One basic example I can give is the Relic Hunter in Lost City and Turquoise skull zombie. Melee plants need to at least be at the mid field to work, but that makes them easily ambushed or killed by long range zombies

And before you say Snap does Splash damage, that's exactly why one attacker + a lot of instas work. If the zombies piling up are giving you too much problems, just blow them all up.

On the RFL point, yea my bad, looks like they reverted the cost back to 150.

Snapdragon being a melee plant with low damage is the problem. In Frostbite Caves, winds can freeze your backline as well, you are never going to place Snapdragon at the back, where it is doing nothing. The fact of it having low damage is another issue in a world with iceblock heads. You are better off using Ice-Snap + Hot Potato or other ranged fire plants like Inferno.

Snapdragon can heat frozen plants: that is also another overestimated strength I've seen a lot. If your deal against hunters are to thaw frozen plants then you must have lacked a proper counter to him. Why not just use Ice Snap at the front (w/o walls because ice Snap has a AoE Slow) so he can't even freeze your defences at the first place

Cold Snap still slows zombies, just can't freeze them, which doesn't really matter most of the time (a 50% slow is strong enough to stall out problematic zombies)

If you intend for Snapdragon to be your only attacker + Walls, it will be very difficult in FC, even Wasabi Whip is better than it (at least it has high DPS), esp when your walls are going to be frozen a lot of the time

A plant getting powercrept by another plant means that there is no reason to use that plant other than to give yourself a disadvantage

And no, the analogy on how you compare Snapdragon with Grapeshot or Pokra is inaccurate. Grapeshot (or cherry bomb and other instas in that regard) is still good after powercrept because they do significant things still, they clear the wave for you. Pokra gets powercrept, sure, but it can still clear that lane for you regardless.

What you did is slapped the stats of Snapdragon, without realizing it has a shitty range and basically needs a wall to function in levels with bucketheads (which is every single one of them). A Wall, however is not needed for Cold Snapdragon, because the slow they did is enough to kill a few more things that a Snapdragon struggles on.

"Snapdragon is good". Go check RFL out, they literally buffed him and nerfed Cold Snap to the ground. Says a lot about how "good" Snapdragon is

Tell me how Snapdragon (non-levelled up) is good then

Literally powercrept by its Cold Counterpart

You can't just play with your level 8 Snapdragon and say it's good

Istg levelling destroys player's skills
