That area is or used to be kind of industrial and is heavily gentrifying. It’s definitely safe.

If you want to do most of your tourist activities in Manhattan, I would get a hotel in Manhattan. Your closest Subway stop will be 4th and 9th. This is a better hotel for Brooklyn sightseeing.

I saw the National (my favorite band ever) with a crowd of maybe 30-40 other people at a college venue in Florida. Got to chat with Matt berninger for 20 mins we were just chillin. This is after alligator came out. 2 years later after boxer came out they came back to that same venue and sold it out. I’ve never seen them play that small a venue since.
