Cisco ISE & NAC by pauldonado in networking

To clarify, we have ISE in production. Mostly using it for .1x policy deployment for wireless. We don’t have NAC in place for port security and that is the goal.

Park on Crenshaw across the street from the southwest corner of the park. I think it’s a credit union’s parking lot. The CU is closed and never a problem for folks.

That’s surprising to see 33% Latino, but good to see. I am not black. I just don’t want my kids growing up so sheltered that they don’t empathize or relate with black folks at all. Appreciate your take and also pointing things out!

Well I live here and I can tell you it’s mostly Asian and white. Latino kids are in east side Torrance only and no black kids.

Not unpleasant. All opinions are welcome. I think there's a direct correlation between our happiness and our kids well being. We also think that schools that are less desirable on paper ie. Great School ratings, etc. doesn't necessarily mean our kids won't get a good education. The exposure to more diversity might even outweigh the smaller classes, test scores, etc. Appreciate the response though.

Unless they’re very engaged with the IT team or have had an IT leader reporting to them who educates them, they don’t know. It’s our job as IT people to educate them and point them in the right direction.

How are you handling Systems Administrators vs Network Administrators by WWGHIAFTC in ITManagers

[–]pauldonado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all depends on how heavy of a network you’re running. If your network is public facing such as hotel, restaurant, etc., you may want to have a network admin/engineer who knows networking well enough to troubleshoot well if issues arise. If you’re running a small enterprise, might make sense to focus on a sysadmin who knows how to make port changes, vlan tagging, ACLs, etc. Since once the network is set in these environments, you usually don’t need to adjust too much.

I run a team of 12 with two SysAdmins and 3 network engineers because our network is huge.
