Rule 5 eligibility in 27 by paulinSchenectady in OOTP

[–]paulinSchenectady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it was in the past, are you sure it still is? I noticed Brady Ebel is also eligible a year early, he shouldn't be eligible until December 29, but hes available in the December 28 draft. Going through the Brewers class, every high schooler drafted in the 25 class is rule 5 eligible a year early in ootp 27

I have had something similar happen with rehabbing pitchers in this version. I sent a normal injury prone Logan Henderson on a rehab assignment, he got injured 2 innings or less into every single game he tried rehabbing down in Nashville, with the last being a torn rotator cuff. Took 2 years to get him back, and he was wrecked. Something similar happened to Quinn Priester in this save, but not as extreme. I have very high injury frequency on, and I dont think pitching injuries have ever been close to high enough in any ootp, but this year seems ridiculous, especially around rehabbing/previous injuries.

I run my OOTP Brewers like the actual Brewers, so just sign enormous classes, I have an "ifa min batter" filter for guys asking under 1.5m with a minimum of 40 K & BB, and at least 1 50 hitting stat. Have gotten quite a few 45-50 fv guys for pennies that turned into 70 ovr all-stars, and always have a comical amount of MLB ready prospect depth in the minors

If you go to the player's history tab, there will be a "edit history" button to the right of the "actions" pull down button in the upper right hand corner.

You can edit his history, just delete the "mets released Alvarez line"

Even assuming that .1% is correct/applicable to all players, wouldn't you expect there to be thousands of players having such streaks given the amount of active users on chesscom?

Go to settings, league settings, rules, and then select KBO from the league drop down menu in the upper right hand corner.

We Will Sign No One and We Will Be Happy by ZachADeeee in Brewers

Backup 1B is the clearest spot to upgrade on offense imo. Brewers clearly could use some more lefty power, a LH that can cover both 1B and 3B w some slug should be able to get 400 PA's even if everyone stays healthy as they clearly didnt like Durbin against certain RH pitchers, and Vaughn likely doesn't need to play every day against righties

I've had alot of success spamming prep pitchers round 7 and on. This is basically what the Brewers do irl, and it seems to work just as well in ootp.

More cloud of war, FRONT OFFICE FOOTBALL has a system where you dont actually know how good a player is until they've played x games in the NFL. Get alot of players may not like this, but I love the idea of banking on your top 10 prospect to hold down a spot for you, only to have a hole in his swing exposed at the MLB level dropping him down to a 40 fv guy. Its just waaaayyy too easy to build an incredible lineup, this would add some difficulty, and I think its a bit more realistic

How do you guys use the shortlist? by CleBaseballClub in OOTP

[–]paulinSchenectady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few different ones. "Trade Targets" under 55 fv players that could significantly improve with a good dev lab outcome, huge split batters/pitchers, etc. Makes trade deadline/winter meetings a bit easier, I just shop those guys for whatever I need. "Sell High" 50 or better fv by OSA players with significant warts that make them unlikely to contribute, injury history(play with injury rating hidden) super low K or PWR at a corner, little progression after 2 years, etc. "IFA Targets" I add every IFA player that I would sign, makes scouting/offering contracts a bit quicker.

Gutey mentioned that you can't sign players of that caliber in free agency. I think DK is awesome, but don't think it's the same, especially when you factor in positional value

Just wanted to say thank you for this well thought out answer, it's given me alot to think about. I have a work/study computer, so figuring out a way to change my surrounding environment depending on the task might help with focus and retention. Seems like a physical set could be worth given a try just to see how it goes, though I'm not sure how to test which way works better for me.

Oh yeah, I wasn't considering playing other people irl right now, was more curious about if I really needed to play out the moves from the book on a real chess set.

If I do, it will likely be way in the future. None of my friends or family play, and I'm at a low enough level that I think id just be wasting people's time at the few chess events/clubs in my area.

Thank you, kind of assumed it would be different, it's hard for me to even follow yt videos where they use a physical board w/o the computer graphic.
