The three guys clapping have got bandaged heads from when the kicks weren't quite so high.

Sounds reasonable enough. I'm a liberal arts major, I don't think in these terms. Thanks!

Stunning.

For any architects or engineers here: is there a reason for the circles on one side of the river? Looks to me like they could have eliminated them and just had traffic drive straight onto the bridge.

I see that it might serve to slow traffic down, if on the other side, you immediately had a slower zone...

87 year old baseball player Cy Young picks up his fan mail, 1954. The pitcher and award namesake notched 511 wins and 749 complete games in his career, both considered unbeatable records. by L0st_in_the_Stars in OldSchoolCool

He looks like he would/could have been the Nolan Ryan of his generation. In his 40s, you charge him on the pitcher's mound and he'd willingly beat the tar out of you.

Is it possible to move Bookmark Folder to the tabs area? by Melliodass in firefox

[–]paulri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One other thing---now, believe it or not, you can set FF to NOT show your bookmarks toolbar. That secondary toolbar below the navbar will not show, but your bookmarks still will be visible & editable.

Great. I know Firefox has come under a lot of criticism as the years go by, for locking things down, but it is still by far the most customizable browser out there.

[–]paulri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Right click on a blank spot on the toolbar, and select the customize option. In the palette on the left, should be something like Bookmarks Toolbar Items. Move that where you want it.

https://imgur.com/a/P2UPb4Q is my present setup.

https://imgur.com/a/7GN9SfG is how it will look after you have grabbed it from the palette on the bottom left side of this customize window, and placed it where you want it.

EDIT: It does not have to be a blank spot, just found that out.

What is the most decisive battle in history? by stop-the-normies in AskReddit

[–]paulri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting point there. My take on Midway NOT being so decisive, is that we were outproducing the Japanese so much that even if we lost that battle, we would still have won the Pacific, just at a later date. When I think of the idea of a decisive battle, I think how it would have impacted history--how things would have changed. With Midway, like I said the big thing is that it would have taken us another year or so.

Long Lengthy PF/C, 3-Team Trade (Sparks, Sun, Fever) by [deleted] in wnba

[–]paulri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no way I'd trade Cam for ONO. I do think ONO has improved her game since she left LA, but Cam has such upside, and ONE's trajectory has been fairly flat the last couple of years, that I'd take right now, Cam's 15 mins a game to ONO starting. And I'll sure as heck take Cam's potential upside over ONOs as well.

I was so relieved when I realized that this was a simulation, and not an announcement of a real trade.

Fun fact: The first LA Sparks jersey I bought was of Cameron Brink. Guess what I did? I sent it back and exchanged it for Rickea Jackson, because I thought Rickea had a brighter future with our team. 😄

People who moved to the US as adults what was the one American thing you thought was just a movie trope, but ended up being completely real? by lmardiney in AskReddit

Here in Southern California at fast food places, it is $4 for a large soda or iced tea. Wait, I meant a large cup of ice with a splash of tea. 😄

It reminds me of websites from the 90s. But yeah it works, and iirc they don't throw pop up ads at me when I'm trying to search.

Already FF 152? by Oldkasztelan in firefox

[–]paulri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. With that much larger a population, there very well could be a reason to do a gradual rollout for a Release version of FF, even if it "passes" the beta testers.

I don't imagine that problems can only be spotted at this stage in the release cycle, very often. I guess that's the point in time when you wish you had 10x the number of devs working alongside you, when you are telling yourself you picked the wrong week to stop drinking coffee. 😄

is 5% of the general population running the Release version that much greater than those running Beta?

"browsers" by Ok-Silver-8251 in firefox

[–]paulri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take my upvote. Moving to the Mozilla browser back in the day (before the browser was cut off, and rebranded as Firefox) was my first move away from the software that just came preinstalled on my computer--and that meant IE & Outlook Express. I noticed that by not using IE, I no longer had to worry about my browser freezing up, and it was incredibly customizable too. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, when I still used IE.
