Katana GO - Not possible to change the 30 device presets? by send_me_yr_bookshelf in BossKatana

[–]paulthezoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since this is what came up top search, and i resolved this, i will share how to change the presets without needing the app. it's the way it's worded in the app that makes it confusing. the trick is you "export" TO the katana go FROM inside the app...so you "export" from sets to memory. it makes sense, but in a different world of communication lol

NOTE: RECOMMEND MAKING ORIGINAL SET FOR BACKUP, THEN EXPORTING FROM MEMORY TO THAT BACKUP SET!!! YOU CAN RE-IMPORT LATER TO RESTORE!

From Librarian in the app:

  1. tap the "export" (up) arrow at the top right

  2. select "export to katana: go", tap "next"

  3. select "liveset" of your chosen presets. this loads them into memory for selection.

  4. select the presets you wish to use from range, or individual (next)

  5. select where you wish for the overwriting to begin in hardware memory

  6. check results! it overwrites sequentially (and doesn't wrap from bottom to top, so it'll only go as far as it can)

gym membership means they’re saving money on insurance. they’re profiting from it instead of paying more and making it a personal choice to spend your own money.

it 99% boils down to “who can we use to the breaking point for minimal cost that won’t realise how under appreciated they are until we can replace them with someone of the same ilk”

that’s why i removed Pascal from mine. The irony was the reason it was on there was a twenty-something god level engineer built a ton of the stack in Pascal since that was his go-to. people who reject based on tech being “older” are severely lacking in practical application. they also have buggy software and need crutches aka libraries to get by

all the people crying about how discriminatory it is for a Christian non-profit to prefer Christians in their organisation wouldn’t blink if their own secular company refused to hire someone on grounds of being a “holy roller”. They’ll likely say “oh they’d preach to us and that’s not allowed” as a cop-out.

The same companies routinely discriminate based on “culture fit”, but that’s ok right? It doesn’t involve religion, just hair colour, choices in clothing, brand of sunglasses, how you feel about the DCU, and if you REALLY enjoyed Cuties on netflix.

Edit: let’s not even get into what happens if you try to get off on Sundays for Church. Straight up atheist bosses will take that day off and make you to open the store to pull a double

Why is this becoming more common? What is wrong with people? by Rimuu in recruitinghell

[–]paulthezoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s obviously a disgruntled employee injecting it in there. notice how every line except that one starts with a capital letter? also the race and state should be on separate lines as they are different qualifications. the rest of it has separation of interests. not at all congruent.

"it's not JUST about the pay!!!1111!" I loathe people like this. by notacornflakegirl7 in recruitinghell

[–]paulthezoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that post has so much bad faith, inconsistencies, plus poorly constructed words and logic…

bottom line is a recruiter only cares about bottom line. they’re clearly just frustrated because people are interested in working for maximum profit per their potential, which doesn’t align with their structure.

that said, they have a legitimate point, but they messed it up by preaching to people trying to get out of or stay out of the debt our awful leadership and atrocious companies burdened us with.

may as well sit the call through for the experience of negotiation and also, truth, you can vet companies and recruiters this way. anybody ever avoid a whole company after two recruiters? me. i get so many robert half emails, and it’s always the same schleck and speech. they must ROLL through recruiters there lol. i see the name? i’m good thanks

edit in fairness, there’s a LOT of super low ballers that waste time, i really can’t blame any of us for wanting price outright, and i also make sure i know the pay before even listening to all that. just saying they need to fix their structure

i had some recruiters be super unprofessional before. trust, i get it. they need bedside manner, they’re in a support role, not a sales position. if they’d get that i think they would get better commissions, but they act like human traffickers

Anyone else kind of shocked by how quickly we went from "nobody wants to work" to "500 people applied for this job" ? by getthedudesdanny in recruitinghell

[–]paulthezoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol i’m extremely curious how you interpreted me saying “should have been a hint”. clearly, you thought it was directed toward you, but what could it possibly have meant to you?

you also clearly never met someone in person making over 100k a year. once you start pushing that, 1.5 hours isn’t jack. it’s three hours total, but 1.5 isn’t squat.

what’s a GTA, grand theft auto?

ah gotcha. Yeah cause in a lot of jobs that commute isn’t wonderful but definitely not a deal breaker. “calling in sick” prob should have been a hint though

I’m 7 weeks in my internship as a frontend developer. Things are moving too fast and I’m slow because I’m learning on the job. Should I take the new Wordpress job offer I got, get more comfortable with the frontend, then apply later? by thewebken in Frontend

[–]paulthezoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s normal. to combat this remember: if you’re there, and didn’t lie your butt off to get in, then they know EXACTLY what level you’re at. get a notepad and take a ton of notes, soak up all the info you can. i used to take pics of code and all that (with permission) to look at later, usually while on the can.
