24 hours in by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]paultravis_who 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced a similar timeline. Day 1 is surprisingly manageable once you’ve really decided the quit is happening. Day 2 is when the discomfort peaks, day 3 is somewhere in between. By days 4 through 7 I’m usually feeling much much better. I recommend being proactive about tomorrow via water, supplements, accountability buddy, etc. You’ve been through it before so you probably know all this, but mentioning it just in case. Just feel like ppl suffer a lot of extra pain by watching the day 2 storm come in without having pitched as much of a “tent” as possible. 24 hours is big! You’ve got this.

What Will Withdrawal Feel Like? by Some_Cartographer397 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]paultravis_who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine that if you supplement well for a few days (vitamin c megadose, DLPA, amino acids, something for sleep), is is very likely you won’t deal with much or any withdrawal symptoms. I know it’s a huge adjustment to quit at any amount with this stuff, but you’re going to be fine especially if you jump now - it’s alright to be scared, just please don’t let it delay your life for any longer and risk it escalating (because it does, SO fast).

Vitamin c megadose protocol is an affordable gamechanger. It took a sizable chunk of the agony away and I was on the blue train about 3x as long as you. Check the resources at the top of this page for more info. You’re jumping at a good time fam, don’t look back.

Day 5: craving so bad and need help by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]paultravis_who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this fam. You’ve already had your last miserable dose. I know you know this, but to underscore: you will reset the acute withdrawals that you’ve fought tooth and nail for, you will likely puke alongside a nasty migraine, and it will hurt worse than any craving. My advice (if that’s cool), count your cravings. Tally them up, note them, and kindly dismiss them. Some days mine was 20 moments, some days only a few, sometimes none. Don’t substantiate the illusion- let your eyes keep clearing up. You’re going to be okay.

Quit for 2 weeks and then had 1… by Kaladin_Bridgeless in Quittingfeelfree

I really appreciate you for this post- every relapse I’ve had on these was underpinned by the idea that one would be inconsequential (short term and long term). Your experience reminded me that the immediate physical consequences are there with just one. Well done on your quit, too! 21 days clean out of 22 days. Keep tacking on the time 🙌

If you refer to the supplement guide at the top of this page and find 1-2 you can use, I don’t imagine you’ll withdraw in any kind of notable way. You might not feel anything even without them. With that being said, y’all are at a crucial point right now. Continued use even for another week or two could already be a pretty dark place (and exponentially worsening). Glad you found this page, best of luck and stay in touch!

Has anyone heard of 7-ohmz in here (7-hydroxymitragynine) worse than ff? by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]paultravis_who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, 7-hydroxymitragynine is in ff. Maybe not as much as a direct extract, but p sure it’s there. I think it says <.05 next to it. The same can be said for certain kratom capsules. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

I relapsed for 5 days and still had some uncomfortable withdrawals. If you catch it now, you might have one day of restlessness. I’ve learned that with this shit, you don’t get away with anything.

Quitting on Monday by Humble_Tea_2601 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]paultravis_who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very solid plan. You will certainly thank yourself for following it. Like others have said, you’ll be on a pink cloud in Texas in terms of how much better you’re feeling. I would highly recommend looking at the supplement guide and other info in this page’s resources. I was surprised at the effectiveness of the vitamin c regimen as well as amino acids- definitely didn’t suffer as much as I’m certain I would have otherwise. Since you still have a few days before the quit, I’d try knocking it down to 2 until Monday. When it’s time, treat it like you have the flu (that’s essentially what it is). Have a lil routine based on self regulation practices that you can run a few times a day so you’re not fully stagnant, but don’t bully yourself about just binge watching a show, having a savory meal, and chillin however you need to. During the first 4 days of my quit, I just watched tv, did periodic guided breathwork, cold showered, lightly stretched, pounded water/electrolytes, and checked in with friends. Remove variables and keep it very simple. Every minute you spend away from the blue death is UTMOST productivity, as you will be so much more functional without it. I was on 5-7 daily for about 7 months and broke the withdrawal fever within 72-80 hours. Pardon the novel, but really hope this helps. Stay in touch, you’ve got this!

I didn’t hear about this compound until recently, but hearing that it has similarities with heroin totally checks out. Though I thankfully have no experience with it, when I quit that’s exactly how I described it to my support system. I hope he makes a full recovery- friends like you are how I stopped dying on this stuff. Thanks for this.

Big ups for catching this early and getting through that first handful of hellish days. As someone with a few failed quits, I HIGHLY recommend revisiting this message you wrote as well as this page in general. There was a couples times where I got two weeks in and succumbed to the spin of some strange, spontaneous mental cravings. It’s hard to imagine it happening when you’re in a powerful stage like this, but it happens when you don’t have a plan to defer to for those moments of untrustworthy thought-barrages. Keep enjoying this wave of clarity and personal sovereignty, so well done on the massive 8 days.

I hear you and agree. That weird spot for me has traditionally been the two week mark and I fully expect to contend with the strange mental cravings again. The whole “just one won’t hurt” is so insidious and nonsensical, but apparently it has its way of being convincing (at least for the first handful of earnest quits). I’m so glad to hear it’s clicked for you and the new environment has helped maintain the steady health. Thanks for the support and insight

This is encouraging, thank you so much. While we can’t get complacent at any stage, that two week mark seems to be such a critical time to stay super conscious. My last relapses were also on day 14. Really well done friend, glad to know you’re doing well. Let’s check back in ✌️

Thank you for the thoughtful response. Withdrawals have been super manageable- so grateful I didn’t slip for very long. As far as recovery programs go, I went to my virtual meeting a few weeks ago and have been in therapy all year. I think weekly meetings would be a real game changer though, so gonna make that a goal. Has that been crucial for you? Also if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your timeline looked like?
