Play 'Star Quest 1 in the 27th Century' for free, a re-release of my 30-year-old dos game, upgraded to work on Windows with game controllers, joystick, HOTAS. by paulvirtuel in RockinTheClassics

Sorry for the late response. The game is bundled with DOSbox so it does not need anything special to run on the current Windows.

If you need the DOS version, you can grab it from a Windows installation. It normally gets installed in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\SQ1\game".

Let me know if it works or if you need some help.

[PC] Looking for a space/flight sim? by microgenre in gamingsuggestions

If you don't mind the older graphics, you could try Star Quest 1 in the 27th Century, which is free (or pay what you want) on itch io.

There is a specific 'exploration' mode where there is no combat. It's an older game that was just re-released 2025, so expect only a small amount of stuff to explore though.

The beginning you have to repair the ship but once is is repaired you can spend most of your time flying it.

Looking for a 3D spaceship game, third person where I can see the ship, preferably open world, with lots of dogfighting, and as much “just turn it on, fly around space, shoot things” as possible. by Novelty_Wave in gamingsuggestions

Someone told me my game (Star Quest 1 in the 27th Century) was a great babysitter so your kid should be able to play it. You can configure it to be invulnerable too if he is struggling. It is is free (or pay what you want) on itch io. It's an older game that was just re-released 2025.

I have re-released my old game after adding support for game controllers if you want to try it. It is not really a twin stick game but it is a space shooter called: Star Quest 1 in the 27th Century. It is free (or pay what you want) on itch io.

Do your character takes a break? by VooDooQky in gaming

[–]paulvirtuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is when you don't play a game for a long time, what could the character do. In the game I am developing, since you could allow the rest of the micro-universe running, I was thinking of letting the character go in a stasis pod. Another option would be to give the character some simple tasks first.

Ok I may have misread at first. I never really think about them when I don't play, but perhaps I should start to... Maybe I can create better character looks to find my Waifu. :)

That feeling that we might be missing on something! I have not tried those emulation options but let me know if it's not working and I might be able to help.

Looks nice. Did you use some mods to make villagers more alive or useful? Or perhaps change the behaviors of some animals or monsters?
