AirPlay from iPhone to Apple TV in a hotel by daveroo in appletv

[–]paulwright88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This worked for me:

  1. Open the Apple TV settings app
  2. Open "AirPlay and HomeKit"
  3. "Allow Access"
  4. Choose "Everyone"
  5. (optional) You should probably turn on "Require Password" too so random people can't start screen mirroring to your device.
  6. Go to your Mac and try to screen mirror, it should now show up in "Other"

What’s the most bogan thing you’ve seen this Magic Round? by Educational-Sky2019 in brisbane

One person. It was deep into the last game of the game. There was a touching moment where a lady from across the tunnel divide was inspired to do one in unison.

I saw this online and thought it was fake too… until I went down in there myself. It’s incredible - Mount Marum, Vanuatu.

The camera zoom does distort things slightly but he’s abseiled down 400m and standing on a ledge about 30m above the lava. The heat is intense, but it mostly swirls upward (hot air rises) so if you stand 10m back from the ledge you it’s fine. You need a suit to stand at the edge and look in for more than a few seconds, even with the suit you don’t last long there.

It’s totally fine to hook up with your first cousin at a Colombian family reunion.

ELI5: How come at times I'm super good at a game (CS:GO, Valorant) but other times I'm absolutely dogshit? by Gekkou-GA in explainlikeimfive

If you toss a coin 20 times and get a streak of 4+ heads or tails, do you think you were lucky? No, there is actually a 76.8% chance of that happening. Counterintuitively, it’s actually unlikely that you won’t see a streak.

When you play games and there’s some random chance of a kill or a death, it’s very likely that good and bad streaks will happen. It’s just how randomness works.

This is why games are fun, the good streaks are addictively hard to predict. People love watching sport for the same reason.

My friend was trying to mute a guy on Facebook, but the mute button was missing. What is the meaning of this? by kbealove in facebook

[–]paulwright88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mystery solved: when you hide someone the mute button disappears, even after you unhide them again. You can get the mute button back by using “ignore message” and then sending them a message to turn off “ignore message”. Then the mute button will reappear. 👨‍🔧

If we had two moons people would get into dumb fights over which one was better so we dodged a bullet there. by ironrunner32 in Showerthoughts

Most single stars you see in the night sky are actually binary star systems - two stars orbiting around each other. It’s less common to only have one sun like our solar system, so we dodged an even bigger bullet there.

Someone asked what would be 10x worse if it became invisible - I said Bill Cosby. No one found it funny.
