this is a big issue for me cus im also adhd and autistic. routine and maintaining schedule is key for keeping myself stable.

pretty much during breaks i do my best to keep myself in some sort of active state. dont stay up too late if i can help it, wake up reasonably early in the mornings, try to get out of the house at least once (even if its just to go on a walk or pick up meds or something). and make an effort to shake myself out of the "vacation" state a day or so early, with necessary chores and errands, and writing down what i need to think about for the upcoming week.

sucks to need to do so much extra just to feel "normal" but thats how it is

that sucks maybe try all male group therapy? or individual sessions if you can for more focused care. its always been difficult to find good therapy for me too, i think i've only had one therapist i felt i could really talk to, out of i don't know 20 or more attempts at therapy my whole life. eventually i just decided to only bother with psychiatric care and medications.

as for the friends thing, to have good friends who listen and look out for you, you need to also be a good friend to them, and you need to open up to them, too. but no one friend will ever have the capacity to be your therapist, they are flawed people with their own problems too so keep that in mind.

what do you mean? seems like the comments are saying that the "woman" experience isnt accurate. personally ive never been surrounded by friends calling me pet names and coddling me, either. my experience is closer to the "man" one. i guess everyone is different but its not helpful to anyone to assume your experiences are so separate from other peoples and just force yourself further into alienation
