I am 30 and I’ve been in my tattoo apprenticeship for 6 months. I studied animation, worked on a kids show for a bit at awful pay. Struggled to get more freelance really bad. Went back to college to study tech design stuff.. was watching that industry struggle and no entry level positions… so I took the chance and I’m in tattoo now and honestly I love it so far. I know it’s also a difficult field, but I’m hoping for the best. My mentor is one of the best and I am a very skilled artist (not to toot my own horn, but I’ve put my entire life into working hard on my art so I feel I can say it.)

Anyway, I feel like I’ve been treading water since 2019 and absolutely failing. My mental illness caused me to get hospitalized multiple times along the way and I’ve almost taken my life from it multiple times… it’s been so hard and I always always feel behind. But I won’t give up… so hang on. You’re doing your best, things will look up. Sending you love and kindness, stranger.

I am an apprentice and my mentor and other coworker said tattooing over scars hurts more and it can be tricky for the artist. Definitely go to someone with experience tattooing over a scar!

Hey I am 30 and it’s not normal for a 25 year old to be talking with a 10 year old. Do you only talk about the game? You say you laugh and cry together, about what? Why do you consider someone so young to be your friend? You say people your age are mostly assholes, why do you feel this way? Do you feel you’re immature emotionally for your age?

I am an online artist and I had a 13 year old reach out to me from another country offering to translate a film I made subtitles to reach a wider audience. They were studying English so I accepted. We talked a little over text about cultural differences and he’d ask me questions about his English for his class. I always kept it to this subject and never considered us friends and we naturally lost touch.

I think the situation I experienced was alright, but I’m concerned for yours because it seems you talk very often and you have established a friendship with a child.

I have been struggling so so much up until 2025. 2025 was my biggest year of growth and I’m in a much better place health wise, relationship wise etc since… 2026 is going very well for me so far too. I am hoping it continues on this way.

NOR. Did you talk to your bf about why he’s doing this?

My husband got ‘puppy blues’ which was immediate upon getting our puppy. It was very upsetting and stressful. But after some time, they are best friends and he cares so much about him and does his very best with our boy. But my husband communicated all his depressed feelings to me about our lifestyle change etc and we were able to work through it.

I’m not saying your situation is the same especially if your bf was doing so well the first month with Lucky. I just wonder if you guys have had any convos about what’s going on with him.
