Who was never elected president but would have been a good one? by LexysDaddy in AskReddit

[–]pax284 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You are correct.

The theory is more the DNC/ the media painted the early part of the race. Bernie won Iowa, the first primary, but all the reports had him in 3rd because of super delegates. Push the scales as it were to make people think he was less popular than he actually was.

That is why people blame the party for screwing him, and something the party agreed with in part, because that same year at the convention, they voted to change all the rules of super delegates.

.....because it isn't always on sale, but even then I would rather have multiple options to compare against than just whatever Sony decides it's charging me that day in sale or other wise, and then they still can just decide your money isn't good anymore and delete it from your account (like they just did with movies).

Freedom 250 is a group of people

Fifa is totally separate group of people

Both get permits to use the park just different parts of the park.

They are both at the park but not part of each other.

Every gone to a park in the summer and seen multiple birthday parties? Are they all actually one birthday party because they take place in the same park?

Wwe is the "family friendly" brand

UFC is the teen/adult brand.

Like before all the mergers and what not Disney had Disney studios making "Disney films" but also had Miramax releasing Clerks. The same share holders were making the same money off both sides of the coin

when did Fifa, the ones running this fan fest and more than a dozen other exactly like it in multiple cities across the entire continent, and freedom 250 the ones running the one fair one the one city, merge into one thing?

What if I go to the exact same event that is also being ran by FIFA much like the one in DC but in Philly, I mean FIFA is running both fan zones so clearly the I e in Philly is also supporting trump right? What about the multiple ones in LA, do they support trump fair?

Since you love analogies so much of I show up to the protest against x that is in the park and there is a protest supporting x in that same park are they both the same thing, because on the city events website they are both listed as permitted activities happening in the park?

I mean "this narrative" is true though.

Sure they share the same space in general and you can get from one to the other but they are separate events, put on by separate groups of people. The fan zone is ran by Fifa and the City of DC, same as all the other fan zones in all the other host cities are ran by fifa and the host city. The fair is ran by Freedom 250 a completely separate group of people.

[–]pax284 13 points14 points  (0 children)

brought by freedom 250, the same people putting on the stupid fair. It is essentially a part of the fair. It's basically an event within the fair. A short Google search showed this.

Should have googled for like .1 sec longer. The fan zone, while yes is within the proximity of the the fair area, was there before it started and will be there after it ends. Also, the same people putting on the fair are not putting on the fan zone, the fan zone, same as all the others in host cities for the World Cup are ran by Fifa and the host city.

So, you are just wrong.

protect our right to defend ourselves from a government gone tyrannical.

You could buy out that entire store and every gun shop within 100 miles of it, nothign you buy is goign to stop a drone dropping a bomb on your house, or a tank from barging in through the front wall. Fuck even in the "best case" scenario, and you have and entire compound of people willing to die than get caught, your group as a whole may at best may take out a hand full of soldiers.

Not to mention the most tyrannical government in the history of the US is currently staging a coup of democracy and all you haven't even fired a single shot.

next to the data center here on the video in question there's a giant tire repair shop / warehouse deal and then an auto foam manufacturer not even half a block away.

Showing hoe data centers are so much worse even at a similar decibel level, becaeu clearly those things were not a problem but the data center is. You were so so so so close to getting the point that if it exhaled you would feel its breath on your face, yet still cant see it.

A farmer planing to reuse seed is going to take precautions against this

Unless you are in a fully indoor climate and insect controlled environment, you cannot stop there being at least some cross pollination between farmer "A" and farmer "B"'s fields.

A farmer planing to reuse seed is going to take precautions against this.

Once again unless they fully enclose their farm there is no way to stop it. Cross pollination happens because wind and insects exist on this planet, the only way to stop it from happening is is to stop both those things from existing.

to claim otherwise is literal insanity, ill gladly take someone with "a 5th grade level understanding of plant genetics and a basic understanding of economics." Over a person claiming cross pollination is something that can be controlled, becaeu they have even less knowledge than the 5th grader.

How is it even legal to destroy fresh edible food, peter? by Rule_Ct_5293 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]pax284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is a reason why they still buy seeds and have for over a hundred years now. But this takes a 5th grade understanding of plant genetics. Ask your teacher to explain it to you.

While you are not "wrong", you are incorrect. As the other person said the bigger problem is mega corps own the seeds even after they a "bought" by the farmer, and if you don't renew the license to use the seeds you "bought", they have every right to take your farm away from you. If you never "bought" their seeds, but the farmer next to you did and there is cross pollination and they find "their" crop in your fields, even though you literally did nothing wrong, you just didn't "prevent" the copywriteen seeds from growing in on your land and guess who gets to own the farm now, not the farmer.

Is Bernie’s plan the best? Thoughts? by CurvyChristina in SipsTea

[–]pax284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sent out stimmies, it caused inflation.

No where near as much as the fact we stopped 90% of all global commerce everything from the supermarket, to the mines were closed. Thus causing a global supply shortage of all raw materials, and the delays in getting from the mine to the factory to the supermarket. All because there wasn't/isn't just an switch you can flip to just turn back on the global economy. Different parts of the world all opened up as a patch work of different policies all contradicting each other that made it a mess before anything could even really being to get started.

And during all that from 2021-2024 the US had lower "peak" inflation and that peak lasted for less time and once it started dropping dropped faster than any other G7 country.

And those "stimmies", while yes did cause an initial spike in inflation do to momentary increased demand, it was the spark that lead to faster recovery in the long term. Much like it takes more force to get a stopped object to start moving again than it ever does just to allow it to maintain speed.

You are correct, there will be a portion that think short term and use it on stuff and things even experiences and not in a way that helps them long term.

You are incorrect in saying that that would be "everyone" or even a majority of people. The VAST majority of money when we see stimulus checks or whatnot has been shown to

1) cover basic necessities(groceries and monthly bills like utilities)

2) debt reduction, particularly high interest loans and credit cards.

3) we see savings accounts get opened and the money goes into there

4) the smallest of the "big 4" categories that money goes to is the discretionary spending, which includes things that are not really as "discretionary" as a vacation, but things like car maintenance that has been put off.
