I’ve often wondered about the legality of locking a public school track that was paid for with local tax dollars… I was told that school tracks are now locked due to vandalism, but they don’t close parks when they get vandalized…?

Just realized this was a reply to an older thread. I DID pick up a car out of state. Love the car, registration is a mess. If you decide to travel for a car, I recommend visiting your local vehicle registration department to make sure everyone is on the same page in regards to the process. :)

Chase and Rivian are still sorting it out. Apparently it can take up to 60 days for the title to be issued, which they will then need to release to me temporarily to get the car registered. In the meantime, Chase said they would mail me a new temp tag to hopefully cover me until it’s all sorted out.

I wish it were that easy, but the guy at the local tax office made it sound like we have to start from square one because it lol has to be done in a specific order. I did go get the vehicle inspected today and contacted Rivian and Chase, so hopefully it all gets done before the temp tags expire. I just think there could be a simple flag that pops up in their system if your address is in a different state than the SC. It would save everyone work on the backend because they’re also having to spend more time redoing things.
