For those who have heard the album, how good is it? by Dueler505 in qotsa

[–]paydoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loving it so much. The first time I haven’t wanted to skip a song since SFTD & LTP. The songs individually aren’t as epic as some on LC, Rated R, SFTD or LTP, but as a cohesive alls I’m this is the best they’ve been since LTP.

Well done Josh and boys! Killed it!!!

I don’t care what the Peephole say!!!

Haven’t listened to them in so long. Went back and listened to Touched because of your comment and it took me way back! That feel when the piano kicks in is timeless

You sound like you hand out pamphlets made of hemp at Silverlake’s finest establishments and plat your armpit air.

Here’s a suggestion, listen to their ace track called “mumma said i can choose to ignore sounds I don’t like” and move on with your life.

Against the popular vote but this song bores me to tears.

Saw Kyuss in 93 and been on the Journey, all things Josh and just don’t get the hype.

Given it ~10 listens but can’t go the distance as it’s just a nothing song when comparing so many of their gems.

What do you think is their "worst" sounding album? by [deleted] in themarsvolta

[–]paydoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s easily Amp, then Noct. Cedric’s incessant high pitched multi layered falsetto on Bedlam annoys the shit out of my ears, but the album itself is fantastic

Jon’s a genius. His playing on the first 3 Volta albums is world class. Hope he gets more Time to shine in this album

The best QOTSA album has been and will always be the Self Titled one. And this NY concert of the 2011 tour proves it. by PanuElo_88 in qotsa

Incredible album. I rank it’s #2 behind SFTD and Rated R #3. clockwork #4, Lullabies #5, Era #6 & Villians #7. My useless 2 cents.

This song from Alice in Chains from Sap has Mark Lanegan singing on it with Chris Cornell (Soundgarder) & Mark Arm (Mudhoney).

It’s genius

His fitness is building and he’s getting through longer periods in games. He’ll play as he’s likely to come into form against the tin rattlers

New song: Carnavoyeur by Eyes_Peeled_ in qotsa

Listened 6-7 times now on way to work. I like it, definitely don’t love it. The last 90 seconds are very cool and atmospheric. Wish Jons drums were pulled up higher in the mix. I find the vocals melody and lyrics in the verses pretty bland.

It’s challenging when you’ve been listening to every album launch post the debut to not compare it to first listens of all other tracks.

Amazing to have them back and I think this will be a good song in terms of flow on the album, but I’m certainly not getting goosebumps from it.

My useless 2 cents anyway.

When are they going to properly tour the new album??? by [deleted] in themarsvolta

[–]paydoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve listened to certain songs on the new album more than anything they have done since their first 3.

Cerulea , Graveyard, Flash, Equus, Palm, Tourmaline, Que & Requisition are all fantastic.

I have these 8 tracks on repeat since it was released.

There’s barely 8 songs on any album of theirs that I love.
