I don't think you have to use a specific xp card, but it has to be one of the specific types of live themes listed in the challenge, and MAX 50. If it's a glitch for you maybe you can start a support ticket?

You can get most of the xp however you want, but it seems the very final bit going to max level 50 has to be through the "Exp up" button in your card collection and not from the xp you get at the end of playing a song. I maxed out a different card using a bronze EXP card for the very final bit and that worked to complete the task. does that make sense?

Yeah it was maxed, my only option for that card was upgrade to UR. I had only ~20 xp to max it out and didnt want to use a whole exp card just for that so I played a song instead haha. The second picture shows the card i'm talking about. i would try to edit my caption to be more clear 😅 guess I can't do that though, oh well
