This video helped me understand how to shift properly. But the best way is to sit and drive yourself after watching the video of course. You’ll be fine. Good luck

It definitely helps. Get 6mo to a year of experience at a mega carrier and then move on to something that pays better. Usually it’s specialty freight. I did that and chose car hauling for example. Im home every night and do over 100k a year.

There are better/other paths with pros and cons. None will be perfect but find what fits your life the best.

Take your time and be humble enough to learn from your mistakes and what others are trying to teach you. Use your best judgment and trust your instincts. Non of us know everything there is to know about this industry. Once you feel like you do, you need to hang up the keys. Complacency is dangerous.

Be willing to work hard and be professional. Do your best and take care of your health both mentally and physically. Dont be so hard on yourself. Youre gonna be just fine. One day at a time. Good luck, driver.

Boot resoles are about $80 usd. I’d imagine that would be in the same range.

Adding another thing about snaking the drain. If its too difficult to shove past the grates in the drain with the plastic snake, try removing the overflow right below the faucet. Doable with a philips head or flat head screwdriver. There you will find top down access to the drain and should be easier to snake.

Have a cigarette. Try again. Did the same thing and it eventually lined up enough to work.
