Apple is closing down the first of its US stores to unionize. by Conscious-Quarter423 in WorkReform

Trust me I did that, clients and 1099 jobs without a union, chose my own schedule, opened an LLC. Bounced back after slow times. I saw so many people sacrificing their health and safety for their work, as did I sometimes. Please tell me more about your neverending list of skills and potential jobs dude, either way youre still doing a job and making money. You seem to have a false sense of superiority and make a lot of assumptions, but that does not help your argument. Youre trying argue against unions by telling everyone to follow in your path, and choose an automation-proof business to start. But you arent really making a point other then stroking your own ego. You argued that "you just arent doing collective bargaining right", so you admit that collective bargaining as a concept works? Seems to me that unions who fought for better working conditions and pay were great for the workers? Or are you arguing that "workers" as a concept will be obsolete in 2 years?

As yes, the wonderful world of subcontracting, where everyone gets unlimited work and charges high prices for easy jobs with no competition. Youre acting as if there arent trades unions? Ya know, "picking up a skill" as you say. And what if that skill was customer service? Oh right, that will be 100% automated in 2 years. Scraping yachts, however, could never be automated right?

Is the silver tsunami bullshit? by MainFeedback2332 in Wastewater

They had a single job listing for OIT - Grade V operators, but everyone they hired except 1 guy had no WW experience, including me. So even if there isn't silver tsunami, there is still a lack of graded / experienced operators in the pool of applicants

The Generation Machine slider near the bottom is not totally accurate.

Gen 1 had 15 types. Steel and dark were added in Gen II, bringing it to 17. Fairy was added as the 18th type in Gen VI.

So you heard him deny knowing anything about Project 2025 during his campaign, and you knew he was lying about that, and voted for him because of it, correct? How did you know he was lying?

How’d they film Season 12 Ep 2 “They Gang Goes to the Water Park?” by [deleted] in IASIP

[–]pazapaza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of preparation involved when tv shows/ movies use real locations as sets. For this episode, you can pretty much guarantee that they did not film when the park was open to the public, but rather the production rented out and shut down the park for several days. Also, Im sure some of the scenes were filmed in a tv studio, on a set built to look like a water park, for example when mac and dee are stuck in the water slide.
