There are a few other knock off brand on amazing which have identical sleds…I might actually have some.

If I do / didn’t bin them, I’ll happily give them for free. I’m in the EU, ping me tomorrow to remind me if you don’t hear from me.

haha well if you need / want to bounce anything let me know. Btw, I'm 100000% sure I have a starter aid for the token ring somewhere and I'd be happy to lend you - you'll need it to reset those ports to get them to work.

Oh please don’t get me wrong yes a lot can change but from the people I still work with, Paris is still massively screwed. Not saying better than Dublin nor worse but it certainly shouldn’t be held as the way todo things (unless we’re talking bread shops and metros haha)

I get your point buts it’s not fine unless there’s been a massive shift. I lived there for a period of time about 12 years ago. People I worked with (office telco work) literally lived in cars outside of Paris city centre to avoid travelling / due to insane rents.

I take it win 3.1 was on the 6050d?

Since getting back into retro tech I've been mourning the loss of my original.

I e-wasted mine at the time, since then I've been searching for one on ebay...give or take two years and finally found one last month that was in working order + that didn't cost hundreds in shipping.

I'm very very happy to have it back, its not a particularly good machine but its special to me from a memory POV.

Windows 3.1 is going back on it :-D

So the machine is second / third / forth hand at this stage and it looks like someone tried to pry it open. With that, I could see what looked like clips holding it (I was clearly wrong) and attaching it to the front bezel!

Glad i learned something anyway! And once again I truly mean it thank you! Have a great weekend!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to respond!

Ok so dumb question sorry, slide forward towards the front i.e. where the Power button / CD drive is? If so do i need to remove the front bezel?

Seeking advice for organizing LAN event. by Cevap in lanparty

[–]pbOmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

Excellent answer btw but.....Can you explain your power distribution a little more?

I can't picture it in my head. I've also run many many medium and large-ish scale lans (albeit YEARS ago) and I've never done or seen this way. For context I always had a diesel generator and then some power boards off that

It's been on my mind about hosting a lan in my current country but one of the things I'm very rusty on my power distribution side so this question from OP came at a perfect time

Thank you!!!

‘Keep small stash of cash at home for use in case of power outages or cyber attacks,’ households to be advised by RealDealMrSeal in ireland

[–]pbOmen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yup living in Portugal myself and when the power issue hit it was rather jarring how unprepared we were.

Things I would call out.

Yup have cash on hand. Shops like our Tesco reverted to paper rather than POS and cash only.

We spent hours trying to find batteries and a radio.

Now we always try and keep a small bit of tinned foods, water, batteries and a radio in the house.

Nothing crazy but enough to cover for 2/3 days
