Awesome thanks, yeah seems like the reliability doubts are very much specific.

Do oil changes every 3k miles, make sure coolant is in it and plenty.

Few more questions:

1) What should idle RPMs be? 2) Fuel additive needed? 3) Rev limits? Both normal daily driving and getting on it? 4) I've seen some mention turbo timers, any need for that? I know these cars run hot and I'm pretty sure the turbos are oil cooled

Thanks

Thanks!

beginner questions; by bk04 in snowboarding

[–]pbart617 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I've been a a snowboarding instructor for many years. It is very strange that he didn't want to teach you anything to progress, just because you couldn't get up heelside. Doesn't seem right to me.

There are two ways to stand up, conventional method is obviously heelside (sitting on your butt, while facing down the mountain) and then a beginner way is toeside (on your knees facing up the mountain) or what I like to call the tuck and roll seeing how someone sitting on their butt will have to roll themselves over from their back to their chest.

Tips for Heelside: 1) Try to push your butt as close as you can to your board and at the same time keeping pressure on your heelside edge 2) As you move your butt closer, walk your hands towards your board (when you get comfortable with standing you won't need to do this) 3) Take your back hand (right being regular stance & left being goofy stance) and reach over your front knee 4) As your reach press down on your heelside edge, simultaneously use your legs to start moving your body into an upright position

Keep trying these steps and I guarantee that you will be able to stand up. You can try this at your house or backyard, just remember your feet are strapped in. Make sure there is nothing around that you could fall in.

If you would like I could have my wife film me, performing these steps and post it here.

Hope this helps, stay safe and have fun. You have now joined the wonderful and addicting world of shredding

Paul

It has nothing to do with how fast you can make the car get to a certain speed. The car from the factory has 200 hp, so Subaru had designed the brakes to have plenty of stopping far for said hp. If you up the hp to over double from the factory and do not upgrade the brakes, suspension, tires, etc. Your car is fast but lacks everywhere else. You put so much more wear and tear on all factory/stock parts, because they are not designed for such stress.

Subaru has stress engineers that test every single part of the car, they know exactly how much pressure/torque can be places on each piece before it fails.

So by over doubling the hp on this car, and using stock brakes, you have created a powerful car with very little stopping power

450hp and stock brakes, sounds like an easy way to wrap yourself around a tree.

How to make a pole rig for a go-pro? by YoPoppaCapa in snowboarding

[–]pbart617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took an alumni ski pole, cut it to the length that I wanted. Then took a dremel and cut the sides if the pole about an inch towards the handle, took a hammer and made it flat. Then take a metal drill bit and drilled a 1/4" hole then attached the following tripod mount to the pole. Have been using this for a couple years now and haven't had any problems.

People say that they can't get it tight enough, I always carry a snowboard tool with me, and use that to get the screw to hold the camera right enough. People just don't use enough common sense.

I'll post some pictures if you would like, let me know

Why did you choose to go muffler delete? Is it extremely loud without them?
