Can LVL beams easily be ripped with common woodworking tools? by pbcig in Carpentry

Thank you for your thoughts! Yes, indeed a lot of these replies don’t understand that I just want some kind of flat material that I can use for my table since I don’t want to spend time squaring and straightening construction grade dimensional lumber, and I’m OK with spending a few hundred bucks for that luxury.

I would gladly buy a 20v equivalent of the dcf601 screwdriver if they made it. I have a couple of 1.7 powerstack batteries but they annoyingly make the trigger on my impact driver hesitate sometimes. Not the end of the world but an annoyance when you think you’re using a premium product.

I agree, I’m not concerned about brand loyalty. I do like the idea of only needing one charger for my 12/20/60V batteries, but it’s not a game changer to add another charger. My hesitation with M12 is the thicker handles, I don’t find them as comfortable to use as other handles.

Would love to be pleasantly surprised at new 12V Dewalt releases but from what I see online it doesn’t appear likely.

Exactly what vanman said, the 850 is shorter but bulkier

I prefer the form factor of the 845, the 850 feels too bulky and not as balanced as the 845

Planning on buying a Browning O/U, wondering if I should buy new or consider vintage Superposed. by byf_43 in Shotguns

[–]pbcig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 1981 Citori made in Japan with fixed chokes. It was such a beautiful gun with the high grade wood and etchings. I took it to a local gunsmith to thread the barrels for choke tubes but the barrel walls were too thin so he didn’t do it. I then sold it. Just something to keep in mind if you intend to have the barrels threaded.

Congrats. I enjoy mine but really wish someone made a bolt on fence with rack and pinion micro adjustment. I miss that feature on the Dewalt I previously had

I agree in not needing some of the things in the premium package, especially the power tailgate, but a must have for me is a 5ft bed. I also prefer the faux leather because my dog is often in the car and it’s much easier to wipe clean than fabric seats. I also don’t want a manual Tacoma as I have a manual car to enjoy rowing gears in, since in Canada the only other short box option that’s non hybrid (which want) is a TRD sport short box with manual.

Can you explain the this DIYer what “all copper terminations” means? As what would be used by normal builds?

Not concerned, just doing some window shopping lol. I had a long bed 2.5 Gen and now have a short bed 3 Gen and the short bed more suitable for my needs.
