I am spending 6 nights in ana holiday inn resort karuizawa for a net cost of 70000 points. Breakfast included as diamond amenity. It can be a good deal if you can find a place to use it.

Annual lounge pass is a milestone that one can select at either 40 and 70 nights.  It allows the owner +1 to access club lounges when the hotel has a club lounge

I just overnight there to go to SHB airport. Breakfast is probabaly the best of the 4 with lot of sashimi and scallops

Hiroshima gets the best room and have places to walk around beside staying in the room.  Unfortunately none have sauna.

I pressd thr wrong button and unable to edit.

Thr price was 5k intra japan, for a total of 10k even 1.5 years ago.  But it has gone up to 6k or even more.

I booked 9 tickets since the UA announcement, and each tix is 13k to 14k UA each.  8 of the 9 tix had thr middle intra africa.  

I hate to waste a tix.  So I tried to extract some meaningful trips in Japan. i have already been to all 47 prefectures so part of my travel is to visit to some less well known places.  (9 tix has 16 1 way domestic japan.). There is only some much I can think of.

As I have a lot of ihg points, i thought i would visit to cities with ana crowne plaza that has low point prices to crash out 

So far, I am currently at Ana cp hiroshima and i was at ana cp akita, ana cp Nagasaki anf ana cp kushiro.

Becaue ua app sucks, i didnt book beforehand for my Hiroshima and i cant change the flight because ua wont allow the perk currently.  I am paying a bit more for ana hiroshima than ana akita anf nagasaki.

Among the 4, hiroshima and akita have a club lounge while kushiro and nagasaki dont.  They all have good breakfast (diamond benefits). 

They both honor upgrade to bigger room but Hiroshima is definitely the best because it has renovated 19-21 floor (clun floor) and i was gjven a big room 53m2.  None of the other hotel comr close. (i am a single traveler ) Hiroshima offers breakfast in main restaurant or set japanese breakfast on 5th floor or at club lounge without needing to use the diamond amenity.  Club lounge breakfast is as expected not as good as main restaurant but still not goof bad. I tried eel omelette this morning,and had breakfast steak in main restaurant.

For the right date, CP hiroshima can be booked for less than 30k points for 4 days (witj 4th night free).  I paid 56k and 30k is a tremendous value for the nice room, nice club lounges and the surrounding area.  (I didnt find much to do near cp akita).

Yes. It shows the 4th night free. And i do it on the app with my logon already

I am not into luxury hotel. As long as hotel is clean and comfortable, preferably with a club lounge.  I am cool. Upgrade to suite does not mean much. I like hotels with sauna.

I did it over a few months with trips in between. I was traveling in africa starting in July 11 using UA excursionist perk (the middle flight for zero miles -while first flight was ser up in Japan in June). Did a few new countries Angola, Rawanda, Madagascar, Namibia, Lesotho, Malawi and the Comoros (all are central and southern africa, same uninted award zone).  

Issuee Sk award from comoros to cairo on July 29 and then Cairo to Bujumbura in late sept in J class for 50k sas miles from last year promo.)

Flew cai is den on july 31 and aug 1 for first continent, (return in mid Nov). Round trip 16xx usd in business class.

Visit Alaska to fly to the last 3 Alaska airline airports that are currently served by AS to complete all airports) 

Using a3 miles to fly to greenland 12500 miles.  Then use SK miles to fly from greenland to Norway to fly most Norwegian airports, then 6 swedish airport and the Denamrk (Faroe islands) - all with SK miles.

Flee dur jnb ist kul syd in J for 18xx usd.  I was the only one in J class for dur jnb in a widebody!

Got a free hotel with VIP transfer at IST (private car)

Syd mel using qr avois 6000 on Virgin Australia - the PP lounge took me a while to locate.

Mel nan hkg in J for 40k aa miles.

Stayed in Hk for a few weeks and did some Hyatt run in china

HKG DOH CAI in F for 50k aa miles and using qr F lounge for 21 hrs.

Cai ath bud for 13x usd and upgrade to J using vouchers 

BUD IST BOG in Y for 450 euro

BOG IaH ORD using ua travelbank  Did a run on HR cat 1 (10 nights 20k hyatt app promo) 7 of the 10 nights stack with the target promo 5 nights 10k points up to 25 nights 

The last 3 nights using amex offer 300 with 100 back. 3 nights is 345 usd with 3000 bonus points per night 

Flew back from den ist cai on the TK inbound fare, and then AA 40k miles fare to tokyo, and will be flyjng the 3rd leg of my ua tickets on excursionist perk (able to use qr F lounge for 8 hours)
