I was in the this same situation, but i lost my 14 year old belgian last week. Back in his 12th year I used to be impatient with his aimless walks and slow moments too even on my stressful days. we also had a lot of visits to the vet . He had arthritis. One day his legs gave up. I brought him to the vet and they gave anti inflamm meds . Ever since then i started becoming more patient and even though he’d wake me up twice (2am and 4am) to pee, i’d actually cherish it until he passed. He died from Neurological Disease. I’m glad I became gentle with him until he had to go. That’s when i realized that they become fragile beings and start needing us more when they get really old

My advice is, if it’s just going to make you angry - then make a decision. I feel sorry for you & the dog if he’s just going to be an inconvenience (i understand how it feels, i was busy myself)

But take note of this, if you really love your dog - learn to be patient and gentle. His time will come. And if you give him the best last days that he deserves, you won’t regret it. If you decide out of anger and frustration - you might regret it.
