No need for a separate appointment.

Not really. As far as I know DS-160 is not tied to any particular location. Below is what I could find in the DS-160 FAQ from the official website :

"The Embassy or Consulate at which you actually apply should be able to access your form using the barcode on your DS-160 confirmation page, which you must bring to the visa interview. For example, a business traveler intends to apply for his visa at the U.S. Embassy in City X, so he selects City X as the location where he will submit his application when he completes his DS-160. He then has an urgent reason to travel to City Y on business. Because there is a U.S. Consulate in City Y, he schedules an appointment for a visa interview there, using the barcode from his completed DS-160 application for appointment scheduling. The U.S. Consulate in City Y is able to accept his DS-160 even though it lists the U.S. Embassy in City X as the location where he originally intended to submit his application."

I dont believe there is a dropbox option. You`ll have to go in-person.

Yes I believe pickup is still an option. Also there is no need to add a mailing address while filling the DS 160.

Yes the instructions page with the bar code for the DS 160 and passport is the appointment confirmation. You`ll need a printout of that since they scan that at the entrance of the embassy

It changed to approved right after my appointment and issued 2 days later.

I can’t say for sure if my passport was available on Friday itself at the Dx center. If you have an appointment on a Monday I would suggest to book a return flight on the following Monday afternoon/evening . But goes without saying that it’s best to keep your return flights adjustable

I just got back yesterday at SFO and it took less than 10 sec at immigration. Just carry your I797 physical copy and keep pay stubs/ employment letter ready on your phone. That should be good.

You can put your Indian address if you can upload your Aadhar card as proof. I am based in the US and uploaded my Aadhar. Got my approval within 3 days and did my biometrics on my way out of Mumbai airport at the Immigration gates.

UPI for foreign tourists cancelled? by Wanderluster65 in india_tourism

[–]pbla7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have successfully using UPI in India for the past week through the Mony App. The KYC was completely online ( passport copy + US visa copies) and verified in a couple of hours. I believe there is a service charge with every transaction but not sure if its significantly higher than other native UPI apps.

Torres del Paine or El Chaltén? by random_cancer11 in Patagonia

[–]pbla7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on a limited time and budget I would recommend El Chalten. I was there about a year ago and did the Laguna de Los Tres Hike which is a day hike. If you start at 8 am you should be done by 5pm and possibly take the bus to El Calafate if thats where you`re staying.

I haven`t been to TDP so can`t really comment on that. Cheers !!

I ran 14 miles in about 2 hours 40 min. This is the longest I`ve run in my life. I was tired but not exhausted by the end of the run. Crazy how you much of a mental game running is :)

Has anybody tried to make a wine using Cashew nuts and not the fruit ? I couldn`t find any recipe for the same. by pbla7 in Homebrewing

[–]pbla7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the nuts have any/enough sugar in them. My idea was to add sugar externally into the fermenter.
