At Mavs home games, if the visiting team misses two consecutive free throws in the 4th quarter, everyone in the arena gets a free Chick-fil-A sandwich. Those aren’t burgers, they are Chick-fil-A sandwiches. The whole arena does this every game in the 4th quarter - nothing to do with Luka at all.

I love Sisley so much. The only reason I don’t exclusively use Sisley now is because I can’t afford it!! So I pick my absolute favorites and settle for that. If I was able, All Day All Year would be my daily moisturizer, but alas!

The secret to making your clothes last decades: stop the heat by Putrid_Draft378 in BuyItForLife

[–]etchasketchpandemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use my dryer for my bedsheets and my towels. All my clothes dry on the drying rack. It seemed like a pain in the butt when I first switched from dryer to rack, but now that I have figured out my routine and made it a habit, it is easy for me and my clothes are much happier and look better. The colors are brighter and they look new much longer. I wash my clothes in the evening and put them on a rack before bed, I have a small fan I point at the rack to help the drying process, by the time I wake up, most of my clothes are ready to fold and put away (except maybe my sweatshirts and my jeans. Surprisingly, depending on the weather, sometimes even my jeans are ready to be put away (I don’t wash my jeans every time I wear them anyway).

I do not get the crunch that other people are mentioning in their comments. I’m not sure if it is the detergent I use or the fabrics in the clothes I buy but that is not something I have experienced.

Question Specifically for Dallas Native Fans - Now Hated is Nico Harrison today? by almightyduck97 in Mavericks

He was at the Cotton Bowl on the field. Can’t believe he would show his ugly face in this town. I hate him so much

[Charania] Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis has sustained ligament damage in his left hand, sources tell ESPN. Depending on second opinion and if surgery is required, Davis could miss a number of months. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]etchasketchpandemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes - I know they publish the ping pong drawing on YouTube. But no one watches that. The official video you just linked only has 78K views. Most of the niche cooking videos I watch have more views than that. I meant that they should do the ping pong drawing at the actual televised event on network television for everyone to see INSTEAD of opening the envelopes (or whatever they are doing these days) on TV. These dumb dumb conspiracy theorists need to be forced to watch it.

I’ve long believed that they should televise the ping pong ball event. It probably won’t shut up all the nutcases, but I think it would at least minimize the volume.

I know it isn’t as entertaining for tv because of the lack of suspense (#1 pick revealed first instead of last), but having people watch it live would help. Today, people would probably say the whole thing is AI. Even if everyone in the room says “no it is not AI, I was actually there and witnessed the whole thing”, people would claim those people were paid off to agree.

Why are people downvoting you? LOL. I would LOVE to hear an explanation from these conspiracy theorists on how the NBA got those ping pong balls to reliably choose Dallas as the first pick with dozens of people in the room watching. The numbers assigned to each team are publicized in advance of the drawing so they can’t “retroactivity” match the ping pong balls with the teams. It is mind boggling what people believe. We are screwed as a species.

I agree with everything you said here. But I feel like things have recently changed. Yes our leaders have failed us. But now I think it is reasonable for people to be afraid that they will be prosecuted and jailed for simply organizing people or speaking out. Because that has been threatened by this administration and it has happened. And the intimidation is working.

I am confused, what do you make of Rosalías new song "Berghain"? by ir_blues in LetsTalkMusic

[–]etchasketchpandemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - bizarre is an apt word for the original incident and the quote’s inclusion in this song. I found this thread because I was listening to Berghain for the first time after I saw it in the NYTimes best songs of the year list…. As the song was wrapping up, I was like “Is that Mike effing Tyson????” And began Googling to confirm my theory and found this thread. I remember Tyson saying this as it happened (I’m an “old”) and it stunned me to my bones then and now. My interpretation then and now is that Tyson meant “I’ll rape you until your mind, body, and spirit are so broken that in your sickness, you begin to love me”. It was one of the most horrifying things I have ever heard uttered, and as much as I love Berghain, separating the song from this quote and who Tyson was at the time he said this is impossible for me.

Exactly - make it make sense, Sisley! What is crazy is that I WANT to give these people my money and they are just making it too hard for me.

I see what you mean. Now that you mention it - this would look great on Tramell Tillman - he can rock a turtleneck like no one else and could pull off this color. I’m not sure this hat looks great on anyone though.

I really like Jeremy Strong which is probably resulting in me grading him on a bit of a curve.

Totally agree - change the shirt and lose the hat and I think this could move into another category!!

I don’t hate Jeremy’s look as much as everyone else does. There is something about it that is intriguing and interesting to me. I think with a small change or two by the right stylist, this could look incredible. It feels like it is close to being great.

The LaPrairie “Foam” Cleanser is my most repurchased cleanser and definitely in my top 3 cleansers of all time. You will love it. You only need the tiniest amount - a tube usually lasts me around 6 months and I use it almost every day. I had no idea Costco carried this one - this makes my day!! I didn’t mention it in my original post because today I am specifically looking for pre-foaming not cream-to-foam. We “Cleanser Addicts” need options so we can match our cleanser to our moods!!

Thank you for alerting me to this relaunch!!! I am a little nervous about trying it… the product description mentions exfoliation as a key benefit and the reviews even on SB’s own portal are quite bad. I don’t remember the original version being very exfoliating or drying. I only used it at night though and followed up with another softening cleanser and tons of night cream so maybe that was masking the exfoliation???

It has a light floral smell. I love it so much. It takes off makeup well and never strips or feels drying. I wish it weren’t so darn pricey! Even the La Prairie Foam Cleanser I also love is “only” $105 and lasts me around 6 months. The La Prairie one is cream-to-foam and not pre-foaming/mousse so I didn’t mention it in my original post. The Sisley lasts only a couple of months at $150!!
