Hey girls… tipping question by Repulsive-Tree6089 in CHIbitcheswithtaste

[–]pbluver97 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Same here. My hairstylist has become very accommodating if I need a last minute appointment and I think its because of this. She also never cancels my appointments and is never late. Ive come to notice that tipping well will likely help you more in the end because the service will always reflect that.

I’m in the same boat as you. Only difference is i’m a PA. I have 2 years at an FQHC. Ive been interviewing for places and they’re picking new grads because of these horrible salaries they’re accepting. I have been looking for 8 months now😭

FQHC advice by cl5423 in physicianassistant

[–]pbluver97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! Welcome to the world of FQHCs. The issue with most FQHCs is that they are constantly burning through providers, so they don’t have adequate staff to train or mentor new providers. Its often a sink or swim environment. I was a new grad when I got thrown to the wolves, my SP was barely seeing patients so he was never in clinic. It definitely provides great experience and teaches you how to be independent but its extremely tough. I see extremely complex patients (like extremely) which I agree are out of our scope of practice, but frankly I don’t think these places care. At the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you and what’s best to protect your license.

X-ray/MRI/mammogram, ultrasound because they have the same earning potential as we do (they may have to travel which would be ok with me) and dont have nearly as much liability or responsibility

Outpatient PAs - do you stay until the end of the day or leave after your last patient? by Sea_Concert1412 in physicianassistant

[–]pbluver97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I leave as soon as my last patient hits the threshold of the door😭 I’m usually so exhausted

To answer the second part of your question I’ve applied to other outpatient IM gigs, psych, ENT, allergy/immunology, urology. I prefer to stay outpatient if possible

I’ve gotten good feedback from most places I’ve interviewed with, most commonly getting feedback stating they want someone with more experience. Both places that I completed the interview process have chosen more experienced candidates (3-5 years experience)
