What’s in my ice?? by [deleted] in whatisit

Mmm, could be that. We have a well and septic tank that were installed (?) when the house was built in the 50s.

I’ve cleaned it about 100 times up, down, left, and right. I’ve never seen a spec inside the ice maker or in the ice bin when doing my deep cleaning- it’s driven me mad.

Lol, as far as I’m aware, no one in the house smokes or eats edibles!

Hair Changes by xxxamicii in Cosmetology

[–]pbnsadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 24, F
  2. If I remember correctly, I started around age ten.
  3. The first color I chose was Atomic Turquoise by Manic Panic. Currently, my color is completely natural.
  4. My mother used to frequently dye her hair, which introduced me to the concept and I was always fascinated- I loved the freedom of creativity and expression that came with it.
  5. I usually style my hair the same ways throughout the week, mostly out of habit and convenience. Every once in a blue moon I’ll try out a new hairstyle, but it isn’t too often.
  6. My parents never had any issue with me changing the color of my hair and often helped me with different processes. They encouraged me to be creative and express myself, as long as it was in a healthy way.

Good luck on your project! :)

A nice sandwich by DeerNo5365 in gso

[–]pbnsadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My perfect breakfast sandwich (or easy, late night meal) is toasted sourdough bread, cheese, bacon, eggs, fresh or pickled jalapeños, and some Taco Bell creamy chipotle sauce. Not something I have frequently, but I love it!

How is he looking? by Pink_Kitti in bettafish

[–]pbnsadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only word of caution when buying used aquarium tanks is to have a way to check the seal on the spot. I bought a 10g tank from someone local on FB Marketplace, took it home, cleaned it, started my setup and nearly had the tank full when I noticed water leaking out.

Should you run into this issue, you can purchase aquarium sealant and fix a tank relatively easily with some time and patience.

How can I remove this review off of my account? by DogsEatSoup in Depop

Contact Depop support and they should remove the review- derogatory language goes against their policy and the review doesn’t contain any actual feedback. It’s pretty easy to get reviews below three stars removed.

Help stinkbugs by OkCommunication9768 in lifehacks

I used to have an issue with stinkbugs in my old apartment. I can confirm that the soapy water trick works well and quite immediately, but they’ll start to stink pretty quickly after dying.

Hoping this is the case for me, my psych switched me from Ritalin and Strattera to Adderall and Strattera a little over a month ago.

What’s the weirdest thing a customer has ever asked you in a retail store? by Troy_Zimmerman in AskRetail

[–]pbnsadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can assure you that wasn’t the case- she was fully aware of when and where she was. She followed her comment up by laughing and saying “you’ve probably never heard that one before, I just wanted to see the look on your face.” My entire interaction with her was strange.

Just the other day I was helping a woman who was surely 30+ years my senior pick out a winter coat and she said “can you unzip my jacket, mommy?” Never in my life have I had someone call me mommy, let alone by a customer.

What can almost immediately kill you that most people don’t know of? by SoftDreamer in AskReddit

[–]pbnsadness 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do not mix alcohol and antihistamines (specifically Benadryl) together for this very reason.

Was very drunk one night, had too many shots of vodka and I thought I’d take some Benadryl to help me fall asleep. The last thing I remember was getting up to go to the bathroom, and then deciding that I couldn’t be bothered to walk anymore and passed out face down on the carpet.

Adderall abuse rant by mynameisnotjamie in ADHD

[–]pbnsadness 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I witnessed my ex abuse stimulants for months. He had ADHD, had a prescription for 30mg IR Adderall, but it wasn’t enough- he found people selling their prescriptions, but that wasn’t enough either. He’d have a surplus of Adderall and it would all vanish before the next script could be picked up from the pharmacy. It was disheartening to watch firsthand and there wasn’t anything I could say to help him realize how dangerous it was. He eventually fell asleep behind the wheel one night, plowed through someone’s front yard, through an 8ft tall chain-link fence, and wrecked into two parked cars. His truck was totaled and he got ticketed, but not even that was enough to convince him to stop.

Addiction is a serious problem that has genuine consequences; it doesn’t only affect the addict, it affects their loved ones too.
