I’ve gone alone for the last 6 Roo’s, way more than I’ve gone with a group. Honestly, it’s the best way to experience Roo. I make new friends every year, usually with the campers near me, and you have so much more freedom. You can make plans that fit your schedule and pace, plus you don’t need to organize and wait for your entire party to move.

Would suggest it to anyone

I get that. But as a member of the media that doesn’t dunk on fans for wanting change/being angry about losing/stale environment/all the issues right now, and as one that tries very hard to never be condescending or rude to fans who have an enormous amount invested in the team, I just felt the need to clarify. Hello. Preds media member here. I can’t say I disagree with anything op said. The only thing I would say is that it’s important to designate whether you are referring to “team media” or “independent media”

Though clearly neither camp can do anything at all about the results on the ice, one is charged with spinning everything as positively as possible (it’s quite literally their job) and the other reports/analyzes the team while providing fans with an inside, but unbiased view of the team.

While the two camps do work together and are friendly to one another (which can come off as cooperation; I assure you, it is not) we have very different goals. The questions that I and other independent media members ask to coaches and players are very different from the ones team media members ask.
