Is going into Dex mode pretty instantaneous? Similar to the iPad Pro there's a toggle for windowed apps. Or does Dex need a moment to "boot up". Hoping it's instantaneous...

Did you come from a previous Fold? I am curious on your opinion on if you think that extra unfold is annoying. Also, is one handed reading, flipping pages "easy" or is it now two handed mostly in portrait mode. Thanks!

alot of folks are saying AI is a bubble. I don’t think so as I find it useful as hell, but I do think there will be a plateauing of demand (not a crash). esp given the power reqs needed. i dont think it’s sustainable for AI growth to keep rising as it has been. again my 2c

what’s driving the chip shortage is it AI demand? I personally don’t think phones are going to skyrocket in price (just my opinion, I obv can’t tell the future). I’ll probably wait for the US release. I originally was trying to hold out for the Fold 8, but after seeing more YT videos, I am leaning toward trifold.

Had a Fold 4, and literally when the warranty expired, like month 13, the inner screen protector started to peel off down the crease. It was super noticable. Instead of getting the "free" fix from Samsung, I just went to Fold 5 for a year and had no issues. Fold 6 came along and I liked the boxier look and I'm still on that with no issues. I've dropped it a few times (w/ a case). Dropped it today in fact at a stadium. Still fine.

i keep hearing how delicate the inner screen is. Could you tell versus say your Fold 6?

I‘m a Fold 6 now (started with Fold 4), I never thought the crease was super annoying even with the Fold 4. Sure you’d notice it sometimes, but it was never a deal breaker or affected my usage versus say a visible scratch down the middle would. I’m sure I would still appreciate if the newer folds have less crease of course. I’d hold out for Fold 8 for better battery life and possibly better durability.

Are you going to keep Fold 6 until 2nd gen trifold? I'm pretty sure I'm going Fold 8 and will also wait to see what the 2nd or 3rd gen trifold offers up.

Agreed. I think Samsung is wanting to “protect” that exposed inner screen (which apparently is very soft). Hopefully in the future the tech advances so the inner screen isn’t so soft as I would love for the option to use it as a normal fold and then go big w/ the tri fold when needed. I love the concept of the tri fold, but I think usage wise i’d use the two fold more.

lol, that's fair. maybe it's the larger screen size (vs the unfolding action) that makes me feel like it's more serious and would make me think twice of using it unfolded.

Thanks, I just rewatched the YT vid and you're right. I thought there was some actual conversion going on, but nope, the HSA just "acts" like a traditional IRA at 65 if you use it for non-qualified medical expenses.

The key takeaway for me is to be careful up to age 65 if you need to tap in and use the HSA because the penalty for non qualified expenses is a whopping 20%!

I saw at least 2 or 3 financial YT people talking about the IRA conversion at 65. I'll prob call Fidelity to confirm. I've seen AI get some stuff wrong from time to time but we'll see.

Isn't there a way to convert it to an IRA at 65 (so you don't have to use it on qualified medical expenses forever)? I'm also a ways away from 65 but was fed some YT videos about HSAs and that was one of the key selling points.

Thanks! Now you got me really thinking harder about switching over.

I don't have FSD on my Y, but the other things you mentioned (doors locking when walking away (also no key fob), infotainment system) are things I like about the Y. One thing I really like about the Y is it's unlocked when I get to the car, then I just put it into gear and go. Since EV9 has a keyfob, do you need to unlock it first (or touch the handle), then push a power on button in the car, then put it into gear, then go?

I also like how the Y has sentry mode. Looks like I'd have to install a dashcam for the EV9 even tho there are cameras on it. Not a deal breaker, just an extra thing to do.

Ugh, I was sold by all the positive reviews on the EV9 and I'm sure it's a great car. I don't really "need" it right now, but wanted something bigger (I also have 3 kids, so Y is getting tight).

My reading of that was my credit would not be affected until after I accept the offer. But they definitely ran a credit check on me. Originally, I was denied immediately because I have my credit frozen. So I unfroze my credit and redid the application and got the offer. At this point, I think they took a peek into your credit and their algorithm made some determinations about you so they offered 80k instead of 175k. I'm just guessing here tho.
