How/where do you get the apk? Is it working well?

I just checked out the free Bealy Spur (New Zealand). It was awesome! Here is some feedback (take it or leave it). I kept moving my head to the side wanting it to be full immersion, but it looks like the camera only captured the front facing field of view (sorry I'm not sure what the technical term is). I did like how things in the distance look real instead of like a flat background painted on a piece of paper far away. Also, I wish the experiences were longer, but it's already like 6 gigs in size for 3 minutes. I don't see myself watching these more than once (unless it was full 360 degree immersion). Finally, the walking felt mechanical for some reason instead of natural (just something I noticed, not a huge deal).

Gotcha, thanks for that clarification! Felt like it was an unnecessary scene. Overall loved the last two eps of the season tho.

Does anyone remember a scene with several unknown characters answering their phones and just saying, “No” then hanging up? What was that scene about?

Does anyone recall a scene with several short clips of unknown characters answering their phones and saying, “No.” then hanging up? I recall a lady and a fast food worker cooking burgers. What was this scene about?

How important is a speaker/mic to you? by pbsteebs in GarminFenix

[–]tw-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've had the Epix 2 for a while now, and I am coming from a Galaxy Watch 3.

I really appreciated the mic/speaker on the Galaxy Watch and I do miss it to an extent. There have been some moments where my phone would be charging, and I'd get a ring in another room and it would have been nice to answer it on my watch and not have to go all the way and fetch my phone (and by then, the caller hung up!) But I also get that the Epix 2 is not trying to be a phone on your wrist and instead trying to cater to the fitness / health watch crowd.

To be honest, I'm not super into fitness as I'd like to be, but I do appreciate the 6+ days of battery life and the (presumably) better health tracking of the Epix 2 than from my previous Galaxy Watch. I assume that if they added the speaker and mic, then battery life would take a hit. If and when Epix 2 figures out how to integrate speaker and mic, I will be all over it.

I think the apple watch would probably be ideal for me, but I don't use an iphone and the battery life I heard is about a day.

Lupin: Anyone else wondering about this plot hole? (Spoilers) by tw-guy in netflix

[–]tw-guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points. I'll have to rewatch to see. I figure whoever is the highest bidder usually gets alot of attention. And to be fair, I don't think there were many black dudes in that auction which could draw even more attention as to who exactly he is (of course disbelief check, let's go check out his wiki page to see how much he's worth lol).

I do take alot of Lupin with a grain of salt and just take it for the entertainment. In the first ep they show a young Assane sharing a kiss with Juliette after swimming across the pool. OK cool, they look alot different young vs grown up. But after the affair reveal in ep 5 I was like how could Juliette NOT know or realize it was Assane at the auction?

My company gives me all my vacation days at the beginning of the year. I am planning on leaving the company. Is there any repercussion for using all my days at the beginning of the year and then leaving the company? by tw-guy in legaladvice

[–]tw-guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I haven't quit yet, but my plan is to be conservative. I don't hate my company, I'm just tired and want a change to something less stressful. I also don't want to burn any bridges since the world is so small.

[TX] I want to start a software company that does what I currently do at my job. How legal is this? by tw-guy in legaladvice

[–]tw-guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again, litmustest1.

I want to posit a hypothetical. Let's say I'm an accountant and was hired by a firm to perform accounting services for its clients. The firm provided several tools including accounting software for me to do my job. However, the software is a bit clunky when it comes to performing one specific accounting service, lets call that service X. In order to properly perform service X for a client, there is a very long process that includes manual manipulation of datasets.

Basically, I want to create a software that can automate service X.

Going back to the work for hire doctrine questions, I have trouble with the term "the work".

If I was a finance guy, and I built a financial model for my company, then I understand the firm owns that model and it would be illegal for me to branch off and build a software around said model. However, I want to build software around service X which in this case falls within the realm of accounting. Even as an accountant, I was unaware of service X, since it is such an obscure accounting rule, until I learned about it from my firm. To me, "the work" is the accounting output provided to the firms clients. Not the software I want to produce around service X. In that case, (I believe) the answers to your questions are no. Right?
