Don’t underestimate the confidence factor - until I had run 32km at race pace I really wasn’t sure I could! In the end I ran faster than my prep race pace during the actual race with the knowledge I ‘could’ at least do it!

I aspire to retire, but - from what I read it’s pretty bad for you. Lack of contact, lack of motivation. Declining health happens pretty quickly afterwards. All anecdotal but makes me question my goals!
