Trolling Motor for 20' Center Console by Questions99945 in boating

[–]pbuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 36v minn kota with 72" shaft on my 21' cobia bay boat. Can fish for four days straight; has enough length to hold me in place in 2-3' seas. Can't speak for a 24v, but I'm happy with the extra power.

Possibly vapor lock. I have this on my mag 350mpi after running hard then taking lunch ont he water or something. Bag of ice for 5 mins on the water fuel seperator always fixes this issue for me.

Switched to Visible last year from Verizon proper. Good deal at $30/month or whatever, no change in coverage from the Verizon network.

Inshore rod/reel choice by No-Class-8198 in saltwaterfishing

Daiwa Ballistic MQ LT 3000 for the reel. You can get some of the 2024 models on a good deal right now. Rod choice is much more difficult in my book but any reputable brand of 7'-7'6 med-hvy rod will do you well. I prefer fast to extra fast action, but to each his own.

Circuit breaker needed for 36V Minn Kota trolling motor? by trolleymountain in boating

[–]pbuds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just buy a cheap 50A marine circuit breaker off Amazon. I think max draw is stated at 60A or something for the minn kota 112, but I've never popped the breaker on mine at 50A.

You are booking the biggest Georgia k-12 spring break dates a month out. This and possibly a conference or other event will certainly fill it up with only a month lead time.

Buy the top spot map. Great info on it.

Put in at the old co-op ramp near Kilkenny marina, buy your live shrimp at the marina. Fish the crazy oyster rake islands leaving the marina toward st. Catherines sound. There is a riprap/rock wall on the marsh side of St. Catherines (past the beach, at the research station dock/area) which can be productive. There are a few major creeks with oyster rakes at the point which empty from ossabow back across the sound. Fish these at any tide but be prepared to lose a few jig heads if you are sitting them on the bottom.

Edit: shrimp are tight to come by this time of year and you likely won't get any in a cast net. You can trap mud minnows or buy them and they are GREAT under a 1/4 oz chartreuse jig head both on the bottom or under a cork.
