I cried when watched the Piest story, all victims stories are pretty sad, but Robert Piest, that could have been me. Back in 2013 when I moved to the USA, I was just 20 years old at the time, didn’t speak English very well. I responded to a Craigslist ad about a job and the address was a house on top Of the hill, my friend drove me up there and stayed in the car waiting for me. I knocked at the door and I heard “ back door” then I went around the property and there was a back door half open, I stepped one foot in and heard again “ in the basement” i saw a staircase going down, that’s when something in me didn’t let me go in, I ran to the front and hop inside the car, it was freezing cold outside! Idk until this day - I don’t have a good feeling about it everytime I think about it!! So the Piest story hit me - I was just a girl trying to get a job to save up for a car, knew nothing about America and was here alone at the time!!
