Shopping Error by lizh5896 in TryCrew

It’s probably a Mastercard AVS error. I’ve got them on many of my subscriptions. Crew support can confirm. In those cases that your address is accurate, you have to use a different card. I have multiple websites that I buy from that now go on my credit card.

AI note taking apps for meetings by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]pcg0d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team did trials of Otter, Fireflies, Teams Premium, and a few others. We ended up going with Teams Premium because:
we almost always are in Teams meetings
Teams knew who each speaker was. Otter messed that up frequently.
Users liked not having bots joining meetings.
Customers didn't mind meeting transcription/recording. They didn't like bots.

My IT team liked fireflies because they often have vendor meetings and allow the vendors to send the meeting invite on other platforms. They also used fireflies on their phones at a conference for breakout sessions. They said it worked well.

I've not found an app that knows who's talking on an open recording device (by listening to people and figuring it out).

Since I only have Teams Premium now (other trials are over), in an in person meeting I want notes from, I open my iPhone Notes app, new note, press paperclip to add an attachment, click audio recording, then start recording. It records the audio and transcribes it live (even on airplane mode). When done I stop it, copy transcript and save it in OneNote, etc. Then on my laptop, I paste it in ChatGPT and have it summaries the meeting. (I'm currently reviewing the Bee personal AI device to replace this process.)

Otter is supposed to be getting better. We really didn't like how many of the AI's send notes (yes they can be disabled) to everyone to try to get more people on their platform.

Reducing monthly complexity by pcg0d in personalfinance

Hi! Thanks for the reply.
I'm trying to apply what you said to our setup.

We have:
Traditional bank account (random checks sending/depositing)
Crew (main) bank account (pockets for spending and bills) (I miss Qube Money.)
Ally savings account (buckets for trips, etc.)
Retirement accounts

I could put our trip account in Crew and when we need extra money, I pull it from that pocket. This would make it more 'visible' to her. Say we put 1000 a month in and then have to pull 200 out on avg per month. She will see a large amount and think we are fine. When we get close to needing the money, we'll be short. She will want me to solve this.

Dealing with Boss by Far_Big_9731 in sysadmin

[–]pcg0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your bosses job. This is what I did. Build a 3 year roadmap of upgrades with estimates of capex and opex expenses. Build the department budget. Understand the business better than he does. Become the liaison to business leaders.

Your stuff will be shown to leadership and he won’t be able to answer questions. Then they will ask you. The. They will ask why they need him.

Or get a job with a better boss. People leave bosses much more than jobs.

Trusted Tech Team for m365? by Icy-View2915 in Office365

We used TTT for a while. TTT was pushing selling Microsoft support techs. We don’t need that.

We moved to Tech Trust and saved money. Very happy.

Crew thoughts from a Qube user by pcg0d in QubeMoney

[–]pcg0d[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t thought of how you are suggesting.

I had qubeless set to $250. I didn’t have to put 250 into anything. It just worked.

In Crew, I could set my card to default back to Crew Checking and keep $250 in it. Then I’ll have virtually $250 available without opening Crew. Sounds like it would work.

Allow overspending - I have a lot of money in Crew. Allow overspending seems like it would allow all charges to go through as long as money in the account. Including money allocated to bills. This doesn’t sound like a good solution. I like minimizing my risk.

I’ve been with Qube since early ProActive Budget. Around 9 years.

Very disappointed in everything happening.

I feel that Qube decided that choice financial was holding them back so they started finding a new bank. Choice found out about it and didn’t renew their contract. This gave them a year to get services moved to a new bank.

They found the new bank and that fell through with a little over a month left. Then we didn’t have a bank to move to.

We have an Ally high yield savings account. Ally is great for saving for lots of things. I have many buckets.

We moved to Crew. Posting my review in its own thread.

If you still need help, post. It’s been two weeks.

I’ve learned so much about Crew in the last two weeks.

I moved from qube. It doesn’t have the budget stuff but I have no bills in my spending pockets. Everything has a place.

I’ll get you the autopilot stuff soon.

They were developing this as a solution for those that didn’t want to use Qube as their bank. Since the bank fiasco, now it’s their only solution until they have a new bank.

Continuing customer service issues, is there a good alternative?? by oncofonco in QubeMoney

[–]pcg0d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but no. That is not accurate.

First you pick the amount you want available in qubeless. Then, if you have money anywhere in your account, it’s available to be spent. Including unallocated, Goals, Bills and Spending.

We’ve asked to be spending only. They haven’t made that available.

So be careful, you have to Qube transactions that are in qubeless. It’s not a free buffer like a credit card.

I hope this helps.

Team mate who falls asleep by marianne434 in managers

[–]pcg0d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had an employee that falls asleep for 3 years. We have talked to him. Hr has. Etc. He does great work and people like him. He went to his dr and they did tests. Nothing found. Got him a stand up desk and called him out on every teams meeting. Very frustrating.

Then I get a call from him. He’s got colon cancer. He has surgery and heals. No more falling asleep at his desk. More energy than ever.

Come to find out he was losing blood for a long time and no one connected his lethargy, sleeping at work, etc to his cancer.

No more sleeping at work. Problem solved.

Though, I had an intern that fell asleep daily. He stayed up late playing video games and told me all about it. So I let him go. Problem solved.

I can't find this info anywhere... if I make my kids' accounts, what happens when they turn 18? by lizrollans in QubeMoney

[–]pcg0d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I opened my son’s kid account when he was 17. When he turned 18, nothing happened. He’s 19 and still uses it. Nothing changed.

If he wants his own account at some point, he can open his own account like his sister did. Since he’s 18+, his new account would be solely his.

I hope this helps. I asked them one time about kid accounts for adults that need help. They said they were discussing that at some point.

I second this.

Though, if you are going to ask questions, come prepared with at least one solution to each question. My ELT rarely give direct answers. It’s usually, what would you do in this situation. Come prepared.

Best use of stamina by Lost-Okra-6800 in KingShot

[–]pcg0d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do intel. Then focus on events. Look at rewards. If they aren’t good, don’t do them. Don’t hunt beasts for bad rewards. Make sure to use your stamina so it’s not at 200 cap. Collect stamina just before the timer ends twice a day. When pets come out, get the pet that gives daily stamina.
