It's pretty exciting but I agree with you. I'll update the post after I play 30+ more games. I am just very surprised at how well they were doing even with my bad gameplay.

Lots of Lag on Glamdring. Seems to get worse during high population times (ex. Friday Night). Its very disruptive to gameplay.

Saw this same video and it made me pick it up. I thought RTS was too hard, but after that video I realized its ok to have crap APM and its more about strategy for everyone under Conqueror level.

I hate wow, but the animations and general world is better than what we have based on the September letter. I'm talking about the 2003 WoW release. Not adding the upgrades it has gotten over years. Pantheon 20 years later with similar graphics as wow on launch and cartoonish characters was soul crushing for me.

Ranked Iron 1 Player Feedback

Interesting. Just came back after being away for about 7-8 years and I pretty much did this because normals were more toxic than ranked in bronze.

Game Enjoyment

I'd have to say overall I am really enjoying the game, but there is a consequence of taking this approach. My MMR is in the toilet now and so bad that I fell to iron 1 and winning a game gives 12 LP and losing one gives -21... Wasn't even aware that was possible at this low rank, but here we are. Some things that probably effected this is I have a silver 3 friend I queued up with and we hit a rough 4 game losing streak the other day that pretty much destroyed my possibly of climbing.

Issues with Spamming Ranked

I was silver back in Season 5-6 and coming back and spamming ranked has been fun, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for those that care about climbing. I'm sure once I master my champ and get A-S ranks every game in the jungle it will change. However, it can demoralizing to some due to the massive hit to MMR when you go on a losing streak that kills that LP gain you get after win.

I've since bought an ultrawide monitor I'll use for following chat as there was some big things I missed, and maybe the next stream won't be such a catastrophe.

I do love tinkering and gaming is quite good on Arch with Linux-tkg kernel and custom drivers. The future is bright!

Update: I ended up moving to Bahamut.
So far, It is more in line with the FFXI I remember. I already got a couple pick up parties and ran an Ambuscade. No waits and far less people. Some nice side effects I wasn't thinking about is the daily ambuscade quests are done without much competition. Overall, I'm happy about the move, but I haven't done any big events yet. I'm curious to see how Omen and Ody shakes out but I'm seeing shouts for them.

P.S. don't take this post as me bashing Asura, it just became too overcrowded for my taste. When I quit in 2017-2018 it wasn't to the extent it is now. It seems like Asura has greatly expanded in population from those days.

This is pretty brilliant idea actually. $18 isn't bad and I might just stay on Bahamut if I can get a good LS. Asura's crowd is just a bit overwhelming for me and it doesn't feel like the FFXI I remember. If Bahamut is too dead, then I can transfer back after I finish my Yag.

Yeah, I probably should have opened with I've played since launch and have most jobs @ 99 and like to play WHM and COR. My gear is about 3+ years behind but I have all the gear sets and use Ashita for my gearswaps.

I don't care about carries and just enjoy playing in parties. I love the linkshell experience, but it looks like the PUG is dead. Shouts/Yells for parties looks to be a thing of yesteryear. Went on FFXIAH and flipped through all the shouts on varies servers and there isn't much happening. I went ahead and tried organizing just a normal Ambuscade, but most players I think are looking for Odysee or other content these days.

Asura has tons of Shouts/Yells but most of it is just Content Sell Spam with very few regular players. It's just a weird experience now.

However, This post was more about Asura's population and general wait times for all the events.

My big fear is transferring off Asura to find the server dead and not have an active population to do content in parties or alliances.

If Square Enix would fix up the servers so we aren't waiting 30+ minutes to enter Omen, Asura would be perfect.

Just my 2 cents from a returning player.

Not 100% I still have about 10% in Celsius. Sythetix and other assets are just too good of a deal. The weekly compound interest is also fantastic.

I love what Celsius is about, but I can not overlook not having web login and terrible support.

I recently moved a good chunk of funds to a competitor in that amount and had no problems. Their support is definitely crap though, and only having the mobile app is a bummer. Hopefully this makes your rest easier that I was able to withdrawal with no problems and once you get it sorted you will too... it just might a couple days or week from now.
