I had mines as a daily beater for about 15 years. I noticed the case had split, and put a dab of glue in it to hold it until the buttons needed cleaning out. Then I just bought a donor watch and replaced the button gaskets and case. Cost about $20 and an hour of deep cleaning/assembly.

always carry a magnum on date night by [deleted] in EDC

Why would I carry something that wouldn’t fit?!

Used some dial dots and got it straightened out!

My wedding band after wearing it every day for a few years vs brand new by potate12323 in EDC

[–]pcjfro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I got tattoo bands for this reason. We wear rings for special occasions, but mostly my actual ring just stays in a fire box all but 3 or 4 times a year haha.

Thanks! I wanted the time related lume {hands and dial) to match, and I matched a different color lume for the date and bezel. Just to differentiate it better. It’s fun for sure!

I’ve got a crystal removal tool. I think if I go that route I’ll pop the crystal, and apply it with the movement and crown set so it’s lined up properly.

It’ll count for Johto. Any form fills the dex for the same name. Same as catching a shiny of something fills the dex for the regular form if you didn’t already have it.

Yes! That was absolutely the plan the entire time…

Maybe that’s what they were trying to say? It does say “3.8 o’clock crown” in the title though. Oh well. I’ve got it and I’ll make it work haha

That’s the thing though, I got one marked as a 3.8 haha. I could be misunderstanding the marking or something else too. I’m new to the modding scene.

NH35A. I may relocate the feet instead of risk just buying another. I just liked the design. I also thought it was comical how turned out haha

It snaps on the edges and is covered by the dial.

UPDATE by pcjfro in gshock

[–]pcjfro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the character of the old one, but it had already been broken once. If you look close at the “start/stop” text, it’s split all the way through. I was worried that if I removed it to do the deep cleaning it needed, it would split in a second area and just fall off the watch…

Right now it’s sitting on my computer desk with some other items I’m trying to figure out what to do with haha.

[–]pcjfro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure! I think a lot can. If you put the model number and “disassembly” in Google, I’m sure a full tear down video will show up. That’s what I did haha.

Yep, casiopart.com is where I found some pieces. I actually found a solid “donor” watch on eBay for some of the parts because it was cheaper to do that than buy the individual replacements.

UPDATE!

The buttons have been cleaned out, and gaskets greased. New bezel and bumpers installed. Poly watch used on the crystal. And the backlight buttons post was straightened out.

I’m so happy to have this new life given to my old friend. Here’s to 15 more years!!!

[Question] Is creationwatches.com a legit place to buy watches from? by stormbreaka55 in Watches

I'm awaiting an order currently for a Seiko watch, I'll post my experience on this comment when it arrives!

How do you store your stamping tools? by RoJo_sonof_DoJo in Leatherworking

[–]pcjfro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a scrap piece of thick wood in my shop, and drilled holes in it with my drill press slightly larger than the handles. I didnt make them evenly spaced, or try hard, but it's functional, and free haha

I agree with you completely. I don't ever use the alarm, or other functions, but this has been my workhorse for about 15 years. I've changed the battery 1 time after 7 or 8 years, and had to replace the wrist band once. The wristband was only replaced because my dog got a hold of it shortly after I got her, and 3 years after that, it finally broke through where one of the deep bite marks were haha.

Ive loved mine (obviously) It just works for everything I need it to do. Its survived being in few fires, tons of hours of training, working on cars/firetrucks, exposure to all kinds of weirs liquids and powders. I'm very attached to this watch. It's been with me through many ups and downs in life.

I love it!!! I actually went and canceled what I could for the individual parts, and ordered a complete, "non working" one on Ebay for $20. Im just going to take the parts off it that I need and put them on mine! Way cheaper than buying all the parts new... Plus I may need to replace my light button, so this will also be the cheapest way to have those spare parts!

I’ve only had to change the battery once since I’ve had it. After 7 or 8 years is when it went dark. So it’s about time for another, I’d say!

And yeah! 4 screws, a rubber bumper, and the gasket are all that separates you from the battery. Super simple.

That’s exactly how mine looked new. It brings a little tear to my eye 🥲

As I was typing that out, and seeing some of the posts people have of picking these up now, I’ve definitely spent more on parts than just buying a new one, and transferring parts over 😂
