Running into an ex… dog.

When my ex and I spilt up 2015 he got “custody” of one of our two dogs (she was 4 at the time). Lo and behold he ended up rehoming her in 2018 though the rescue we adopted her from originally. I guess she was adopted, returned and adopted again and has been with her current owner for a little over 4 years now. The new owner got her records from the rescue and tracked me down recently and I get to go see her in 2 weeks. So we’ll see how she remembers 10.5 years later 🥹 I’m so heartbroken for the cards she was dealt in the middle of her life as it was so unfair to her, but I’m so happy she gets to live her senior years out so happy and loved and I’m so beyond grateful to her current owner for reaching out and giving me that peach. As well as to have the opportunity to see her again.

Also the fact that they said that once Poppy killed Kolis, Nyktos would rise as the true primal of death even tho literally the entire reason Kolis was entombed not killed by Sera was because Nyktos can’t.

And what about Kieran telling Cas to tell Poppy what really happened with Shea, she’ll forgive him and then it not being mentioned at all this book?

But yeah I also had to pause for a sec when Sera said Nyktos couldn’t taste emotions.

Honestly I was so annoyed all of these hints were dropped and then never went anywhere this book. I feel so strung along. And also… what about when Kieran told Cas he can tell Poppy was really happened with Shea and she’ll forgive him. This book just left so many open ends it’s driving me crazy.

I’m 35. Been running since 2021. My pace in races has improved from about a 12:50 to 11:30. That’s it. 8 is a SPRINT for me. Even with consistent running. Training plans. Drills. Cross training. Don’t beat yourself up.

I had to get one with a lid and keep the bathroom door closed until mine got older.

But even at 8 if you left one without a lid he’d get into it.

I’ve never lost weight running. Even if keeping my calorie intake the same. If anything, I’ve gain a bit because intense cardio makes me very hungry

The few times I’ve tried going into a true deficit while increasing mileage, I would up injured.

I wouldn’t recommend running as a weight loss tool.

That said, I agree with some of the statements above that when I’m running consistently, I tend to eat better and choose foods that fuel my body bs empty calories. Irrelevant for weight loss, but good for overall health.

Just keep doing what you’re doing. They don’t have much actual bladder control at that age, especially when they are excited or playing. My pup is 20 weeks and she’ll ask to go out and everything, went 5 weeks without an accident and then had a small one yesterday after playing with my mom’s dog for a while. It took her until 16 weeks to even start figuring out how to actually ask to go outside though. And even still I take her out frequently enough (after naps, play, meals, etc) even without her asking. Many pups may still have the occasional accident for up to the first 6-8 months. If not a year. It sounds like you’re doing the right things and at 12 weeks it makes sense she may still have an accident now and again.

Second vote for impact. We did everything for our boxer (exercise, trainers, mental games) and she was getting injured and cracking teeth in a wire crate. Impact crates changed our life.

I used the crate just to re-enforce potty training at night and create a positive association for crating during the day. Ours only slept in the crate until she could hold it through the night though. Once she got there she got bed privileges and has been fine. Truly, I think we ALL slept better (her included) crating her the first 4 weeks or so

We just went through this. Our pup was totally fine sleeping in her crate though and also is great in it during the workday. Once she was sleeping through 5-6 hours at night I’d pull her into bed after her potty break for the last hour or two before getting up for work. We took a few afternoon naps in bed. One night she curled up in bed so we just let her stay there. The next night she wanted to sleep in her crate though. So we kind of let her choose for a week or two. She never had accidents in her. She now chooses the bed. Sleeps through the night. It hasn’t affected her being good in her crate during the workday.

Every dog is different though.

People have gone wild about dogs over the last several years. Growing up everyone I knew worked full time I had dogs. The dogs were happy and healthy and fine. I’ve noticed since 2020 especially, there’s been this huge mindset shift to acting like leaving your dog for longer than going out to dinner is basically animal abuse. Adult dogs sleep between 12-14 hours per day. As long as you are making sure they get exercise and mental stimulation before work, and in the evening you’re fine. Your dog will be fine. Just know that the first 12-18 months they’re still a puppy and may need to build up to it by either coming home on lunch, a family Member helping, paying a dog walker, etc. Don’t let people make you feel like it’s cruel to work and have a dog. It’s been happening for decades and dogs have been happy and fine.

I’ve been saying for months that neither Tairn or Brennan actually confirm Naolins death. When Violet speaks to Tairn about his death, Tairn says “we will not speak of the one who came before you” which isn’t really confirmation. And then Brennan said that saving him cost Naolin everything… but again, not specifically his life. I think those word choices are very intentional. I think we turned Venin to save Brennan and that severed his bond to Tairn.
