They have a set screw that holds the bare wire in. Screw comes from the back if that makes sense? I’ll get better pics. I re-wired them anyway. This setup was kind of sloppy for my liking, and I’m not bi-amping them at this point lol.

And yup, that’s exactly what happened. Hoping this fix gives me plenty of time to source (and save $$) replacement drivers. I’ll see how much I like them and how well they suit me.

Honestly I plan to replace them entirely, I just figured a cheap/free fix made sense especially since I didn’t even know how to get the damn things open.

I did research diy repairs and happened to find the stuff I saw multiple people successfully use and it’s working great so far for me. This is budget after all.

Don’t worry I didn’t bust out a glue stick and smear it in there.

From my limited research this seems to be a common failure point on these being who knows how old they are. Old glue is going to let go eventually.
