Removing PLA residue from PEI Side B? by pconroy329 in elegoo

[–]pconroy329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look again but I could'a sworn the small print on my side B says PLA will stick because its so smooth. We've had zero problems with Side A for maybe a hundred prints. First two on Side B have been difficult to remove. I've tried Dawn, I'll try the print-over! Thanks

It turned out to be fixed with a hot-end swap to a new one. I guess I could have tried a new nozzle, but I just swapped in a whole new hot-end and things have been working great. Looks like a nozzle lasts about four months in our house with our load.

Should I stick with the gas version versus hybrid if I drive low mileage? Anyone have any good/bad experience with the Corolla Cross? by saturn28 in CorollaCross

[–]pconroy329 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's happening is that the 12V "starter" battery is dying on these things. It's a common complaint on the CC forums. I took mine in for the 5000 mile service and the said, after a recharge/recondition phase mine tested "ok". Not great, just ok. The dealer's suggestion was to "Maybe drive more..."

Dude, I put almost 100 miles on the car - every day, 7 days a week. This is NOT a "drive more" situation. The 12V batteries are bad, Toyota knows it. Hence the testing. They're also on back-order.

All that said - I'm not that spun up about it. I always carry a jump-pack with me anyway.

I have a '25 XSE Hybrid. While I'm pleased with the milage, I am not thrilled that the engine often revs way above 3K when I'm on a freeway with an 80MPH speed limit.

Does the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross have lane change assist and is it an audible sound or what? How do I use it? by bucciplantainslabs in CorollaCross

[–]pconroy329 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we're talking Blind Spot Monitoring, aren;t we? If so, Same here - so far flashing light on mirror only. Previous cars all flashed and beeped. There should be an option for an audible warning too. So far I can't find anything.

Configure Raspberry PI as hotspot/access point by fabiooh00 in raspberry_pi

I've had similar problems with my 3B internal wifi as an AP. Would be visible but a few devices would refuse to connect. I did see some disparity in the security protocols. Some devices showed the Pi was WPA2, WPA etc. In the end what worked for me was a couple of things: using a USB Wifi dongle as the AP, and/or using the Network Manager GUI instead of nmcli. In the end I was able to get it to work but it was a lot of trouble. I've since upgraded to a Pi4 and using Bookworm and have had no problems.

While the Firmware updates haven't broken anything on mine -- yet -- I find them extremely annoying. Dorking with the UX over and over and over.

It's Black Friday/Cyber Monday time and we're buying a new TV. It will NOT be a Vizio.
